US Voltage Baratza Sette 270Wi BROKEN

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm giving this away as it may prove useful for parts or interesting for the curious. It is however very broken and WILL NOT run on UK voltages, it will only run on 110V supplies being from the US originally. You'd need a PCB (S029), powerboard (S061), and a motor/gearbox assembly (S057) to make it UK voltage compatible. https://www.coffeehit.co.uk/ may be able to help with those and the Baratza website is full of useful guides.

I have a feeling the gears have shredded themselves again or it could be the motor has gone, and whilst I was looking into it I've accidentally broken off one of the contacts to for the safety switch (the one that ensures it will only run if the hopper is in place). It has been repaired three times (by me) and recondition once by Baratza (I got mine when the 270W first came out - they have since upgraded the model to the 270Wi and when it was broken I sent it for service and they reconditioned it then - it shares most, not all, of the upgrades the retail version of the 270Wi has. What those actually are I don't know.

I live in Waterbeach near Cambridge if anyone wants to swing by and grab it? Some coffee beans would be nice in exchange, but, honestly, I'm looking to not put it in recycling if I can avoid it.

Oh man, this is super tempting.  I live in Burwell and work at RAF Mildenhall (lots of US plugs).  You're only about 20-25min away from us.

I'd like to have this, I have a coworker who'd love to try and repair it.  I have some US beans to offer in trade.
