Specialita is jolting

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've had a specialita for a month now and really am enjoying it.

It is all of a sudden jolting slightly for a split sec when I go to grind which is quite odd.

The only thing that has changed are the coffee beans. I also cleaned the specialita before hand as well however I've cleaned it before but didn't hold after.

Anyone had any experience of their specialita (or other grinder) doing this?

I assume you are single dosing, by grinding out each dose, when you put new beans in the burrs are empty, and you get the sudden torque of them instantly going to full speed causing an opposite reaction in the grinder. If you filled the hopper and used it as a doserless grinder...then it wouldn't do that. Just stand it on a piece of grip mat.

The speciality 75e does the same thing when used as a single doser, or pulsed with no beans in.

It's ever so slight but it defintely wasn't doing it before.

It’s obviously scared you’ll poke it too hard! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
