Single dose / low retention grinders suggestions

Recommended Posts

I'm struggling to find many options other then quite expensive grinders like the Lynn webber and other in this price range

So I put it to the forum if any people know of reasonable priced single dose and or low retention grinders please

I have the niche zero already on my radar but I would like other options

Thanks for any informative replies

For me it's a rather old Ceado E37 with a steering rack boot added. Works a treat.
For a giggle have a look at this thread (read from around page 2 of the comments):

Ha yes I read this for the first time about 2 days ago I did get a chuckle out of this.

I may give something like this a go with my macap M4.

Also should have paid for a lelit Fred on Wednesday if it all works well with the M4 I may do the same to the lelit being a stepless grinder then continue to convert the M4 stepless over time aswell. Until I can afford to drop the cash on a new niche zero

I’ve just got a Uniform Svart for Christmas and so far it’s performing well. 40 grind settings with ranges to suit most extraction methods. I’ve done Aeropress, filter, French press and espresso - they’ll all take some fine-tuning, which is the fun part. Highly recommended. Square Mile coffee stocks these for £250 with free delivery.

To be fair, ive used my mignon manule (50mm) both with full hopper and single dosing mod.

Both ways ive managed to keep the same beans at the same grind, im really happy at what it does, i just realized i dont really need to single dose.

Now it doesnt clump for me, wether thats the beans i use i dont know, or the smaller 50mm burrs

But there a good grinder, not what id use if i were using it for pour over and espresso, but i have a cheap svart for the pour over side of things

Can I ask what model the Lelit is and how you are getting on with it? I was looking at getting the Pl43 as I have a very limited budget, but have seen very mixed reviews. I'm thinking it might be better to hold our for a 2nd hand Eureka Manuale, but I'm so inpatient 😂

I haven't got it yet I'm hoping the guy will still accept payment for it on Wednesday but its the lelit Fred PL043 and its the older model with out the portafilter forks.

But I will hit you up in a PM once received and have an idea how well it works

I realised after I posted that Wednesday hadn't been yet 🤦‍♀️😅

I'd really appreciate that, thank you! Fingers crossed you get on with it
