Bezzera duo vs lelit Elizabeth / bianca

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Sorry for another recommendations thread...

Looking to upgrade my fracino cherub. Currently thinking of a dual boiler as it will mostly be used for espresso, but the occasional milk based drinks.

Lelit Elizabeth seems to have a strong following at the moment, but the bezzera duo mn has caught my eye. Is it worth the extra £500?

Any other machine I should be considering?

Cheers!

How occasionally? Once a day, once a week, once every two weeks?

Once or twice a week. Mainly I use it for light roasted beans as espresso.

However definitely need the ability to make 2 or 3 milk based drinks on those occasions.

Thanks. Think a dual boiler machine as you already said is best.

 @BlackCatCoffee stocks the Bezzera.

There’s plenty of info here and elsewhere about the Elizabeth, which I’m sure you already know. I’m happy to answer any questions you have on that one.

Thanks @MediumRoastSteam

We do indeed stock the Duo. We have been using one in the roastary for the past 3 months too.

The differences are - rotary pump, larger boilers, touchscreen controls ( inc PID control, auto on/off control etc), plumb in capability, true line pressure pre infusion (if plumbed), wooden accents, toggle steam and water controls, E61 group and possibly some I've forgotten.....

I would also say the quality of the finish and construction is a decent step up over the Lelit too. You also have an upgrade path as it is compatible with flow control on the group.

We will be parting with the one in the roastary when I finally get around to listing it on the site. It will come with a full 12 month warranty and all the accessories plus a bottomless portafilter so the difference wont be as great as retail. Let me know if it is of interest @badger28

Just to follow up on this...

I went with the bezzera duo. It arrived today and I had it set up / heated within an hour.

Massively impressed. I also know that my technique is not doing it justice, this is my next focus.

Great machine and service from black cat coffee.
