Compak K3 touch poor performance

Recommended Posts

Just bought a k3 for the inlaws to help them along on their coffee journey.

The grind appears very poor and inconsistent. To get the shot to choke I had to go almost to the burrs touching and even then it tastes horrid.

The burrs definitely need changing but is that enough to explain it?

Also is there a new burr with new geometry given how they have changed all their grinders or only one type is available? Thanks.

Try doing a burr alignment. Easy enough to do and plenty of information on the internet on how to go about it. I had good results on my E37s.

GS3 MP, Ceado E92 and E37s, Feldgrind. Niche.

If the grind is so fine that the shot is close to choking, then shots will be horrid & under-extracted. What ratio are you/they aiming for?

If you suspect the burrs need changing, then probably best to do that ASAP.

Thanks. Definitely I'll get burrs. I just some other issues people had with the k3 with similarities. People saying the bottom burr carrier wasn't tightened in place ot level enough...will try that too.

Where's the best place to get burrs or does someone have used but in good condition?
