MBK Knock Feld 47 Travel

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I’m looking for my first real grinder. I think I’ve decided on the MBK Feld47 Travel - I’m currently espresso (Gaggia Classic) / Aeropress drinking, 1-2 per day.

Apart from the acknowledged customer service issues, any arguments against this? I’m comfortable with manual - suspect that I’d need to spend a lot more to get comparable single dose quality out of an electric one.

I’ve also been stalking the sales page on the MBK site for a while and can’t seem to get any stock. Has anyone managed to buy one recently?

Thanks kindly

Rob

I bought one back in early summer for exactly the same usage as you mention. It took a good month or so of continually checking the website for new stock to be released and being quick enough off the mark to get one. Having said that, it’s not skipped a beat! It’s been a bit of a faff to grind for two doubles for espresso on the weekends but like you say, it’s a lot more money for something comparable and electric. Good luck with getting your hands on one!

Think the force is all I can rely on - been watching the insta but no change. If I knew what time to sit and press refresh I’d be happy, it’s the unknown that breaks me.

@vct thanks - first hand review is welcome. I’m happy to hand out the work at the weekend if I ever get visitors...something like ‘here, wind this while I go warm the cups’ feels like the right approach.

As you've acknowledged there's definitely service issues. My dad brought an Aergrind recently and it took a while to get it (about 4-5 weeks ago). However, the build quality and results it produces for brewed coffee (inc aeropress) is exceptional. Value wise it's hard to beat any MBK products imho, if you can put up with the possibility of delays and/or having to chance up etc.

@Northern_Monkey I was keen to give a UK business my business, if I could. The Oct update on their Sales page gave me hope -

AERSPEED and FELD47 parts are being machined in the first 10 days of the month and expected to be available after the 12th.

My furious refreshing on the 12th did not bear fruit.

@Rapid From all I’ve read, that’s the conclusion I’d reached too - once you’ve got one you’re set, but getting one is painful.

meh.

you can use a website scanner to alert you if an site is changed - there are a quite a few options out there.  saves you have to refresh and manually look for stock updates
