Hi

Just after some advice. A few months ago I purchased a used gaggia classic from 2003, cleaned it up, put on the rancilio wand, changed the group gasket etc.

I've been offered a 2008 Gaggia TS for £250. Condition looks OK.

Just wondering if it is a significant step up from the Classic?

I usually make about 2-3 milk based coffees a day, and have a Mazzer Super jolly as my grinder.

Any advice much appreciated

Thanks

Amit

If it is in good condition, yes. Has a 2.3ltr boiler and a thermostatically controlled brew head. Steams milk effortlessly. Just make sure it's fully functioning and have a look inside. Check what water has been used - hard water is bad news. This article is helpful.

I have had a couple. They are ugly built to industrial standards and work fantastically!. A hell of a step up and parts are readily available, but as with any machine, check its history

Had a TE (similar to a TS but needed to be plumbed in). The grouphead was similar, so the classic shower head, dispersion plate and portafilter are interchangeable. I reckon the te and the TS are similar in this area.

My TE had a brass dispersion plate as standard.

Thanks all. I know slightly off topic, but does £250 sound like a good price if I'm good condition? Will have to try and find some space in the kitchen! Thanks. A
