Hi All,

I am new around here. I joined sometime ago and am now making my first post. In my business - link removedwe supply a number of cafe's and coffee sellers with compostable cups, plastic free cups and other staples from the usual brands. This virus has been devastating of course to all of those businesses and of course businesses like mine who are connected to those businesses. It is awful. We are all awaiting some good news from Boris as to when the industry might begin to reopen. I have an idea that may help post lockdown but I'm human of course and we are prone to thinking our ideas are great! So I thought I would share it here and hope you can all help me with some feedback. My idea revolves around helping independent coffee businesses to get back on their feet and spread a positive feeling throughout society. Takeaway cups as we know are an advertising opportunity for coffee brands normally. My thought was to put a rainbow design on some cups with a message such as After Every Storm comes a Rainbow or something to that effect. The cup could be sponsored by a relevant company (an alternative milk brand or something to that effect). We make paper cups here in the UK, compostable, PE coated or plastic free and we can therefore make sure the cost is as low as possible. The hope would be that the cups could be free or as close to as possible for coffee outlets. This would be limited to independents and small qualifying multi-site operators. A social media campaign would help drive public awareness of that so they could support local businesses over the big nationals and internationals.

Anyway, it's currently the seed of an idea and needs fleshing out, or maybe isn't a good idea. Any and all feedback welcome!

Thank you in advance for anybody who provides help or replies. Stay safe and well everybody. I am hoping the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

Wayne
