Issues w/ Sage Bambino Plus

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First time poster here.  I bought myself a Sage Bambino Plus just after Christmas and in the last couple of weeks I've started having issues with it.  I can no longer get it to extract any coffee other than just a couple of little drops - sometimes nothing at all!

I've tried cleaning, descaling, changing the filter, unblocking the basket, different tamp pressure and smaller dosage but nothing has worked.

I buy pre-ground coffee so I can't adjust the grind size, but the machine was working ok with the coffee I have and now it suddenly doesn't.

Obviously with us all being on lock down I can't return to it Currys at the moment so was wondering if anybody had experienced any similar issues with their machine and have any idea how to fix it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd post this in the Sage forum if I were you, more likely to get a response there. I have a Sage BE and those guys gave me some good advice. Failing that I would ring Sage and describe it to them, maybe they recognise it.

You can return to Currys via phone, you don't have to go to store. They will collect for free and give you a refund/repair. Not sure that service is still on during lockdown, but worth ringing them to find out.

Bump - anybody?

Hi and welcome.

You are most likely using the dual wall basket.

On the inner side, it has 1 tiny hole where the coffee will get squirted though and makes you think you are getting the best coffee in the world with all the lovely “crema”. Well not quite.

Try cleaning that hole, make sure is not obstructed in any way.

If that’s not the case, check that water is coming out of the machine when you don’t have the portafilter in place.

Try reducing the amount of coffee in the basket. Try 16g and see if they makes a difference.

When you have a good burr grinder, you can buy the single wall basket and then drink proper espresso.

If the suggestions don’t work, I’m afraid it’s back to curry’s. That would be my advice. No point trying to fix something which is not designed to be easily repaired.

Good luck.
