Sound from Mahlkönig EK43

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I bought a used Mahlkönig EK43 and noticed a sound when I turns it off and stops grinding. I have watched some clips on youtube and find similar sounds, but no one speaks about it and searching on googles gives nothing.

I bring a clip on it, and I hope I can get some good news and that it's normal :)

Get the same sound on my used ek43 told it’s normal and not something to worry about by people at foundry.

centrifugal switch. nothing to worry about (until it stops working, of course, but that is not related to the sound).

just fix it

Yes. No need to replace, it works as it is supposed to. You can even see the contact 'click' back as the grinder slows down.

In case you need to replace it you have to disassemble the whole thing. It's worth replacing the switch and rotary burr pressure spring at the same time. It usually takes 2-3 years in busy cafe to reach the need to do that...

Today when I cleaned it again and turning the central part from the motor witch drives the burr in the front I´ve got the clicking sound. Some says it´s normal, and I have nothing to compare to .

Here´s the movie from when I spinning the part.
