Hello everyone.

I've been having problem with machine not heating up water for brew nor for steam. Not heating at all.

I followed troubleshooting guide which advised to check for cable issues and thermostats. Actually these are 5 weeks old after I changed (during routine check up) while fixing o-ring leak.

I fitted the old ones (which I believed are still good) and problem still persists.

The only cause I can see now is the faulty boiler.

I noticed slight discoloration on its side - on the heating element itself. See picture. I don't know if that's usual thing on an old boiler or not. The boiler itself was descaled/cleaned 5 weeks ago. For this period machine worked fine.

ActuallyI noticed straight after the full strip diwn of the machine that brewing temp was reaching 65oC. I think it's a bit low but newer had time to explore it further ?

I'll be very grateful for any advices.

One more thing, there is power coming to the boiler, checked this.

You need a test meter set to resistance (ohms). Remove connections to boiler terminals. Check between the two terminals on each side of the boiler . Note the reading=

then test between one terminal and boier case= note reading (should be zero)   Repeat test on other element= noting results.

If either shows a positive reading between terminal and case the element is faulty.  Report readings/ findings for more info

Thank you for the advice but I'm getting very unsteady result from the reading. I don't know if I'm doing sth wrong or not.

If there's power at the boiler and it doesn't work, what else can it be apart from that bpilwr is busted?

Set the meter to it's lowest resistance setting and try again, hoding the probes firmly on terminals / boiler case.
