Pre-millennium La Pavoni Europicolla

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I haven't been here for a while as I've been pretty busy both in and out of work!

Now that my housing situation has changed, I'm selling my La Pav. It's a pre mil and is in great condition, no rust under the drop tray, descale regularly even though filtered water is used, etc.

I've added a couple of bits but made sure they can all come off easily without modifying the amcchine itself. Heatsink to help stop it from overheating and a thermonitor to see the group head temp. I don't think it's bang on, but it gives a good idea. The mount also isn't perfect, but it does the job and doesn't look horrendous.

I also made the portafilter bottomless using a lathe, so that's a nice addition.

I am looking for £200, given the condition and extra mods, plus a hefty tamper to go with it. Also looking for collection ideally from Bristol, could meet somewhere close though.

If you have questions or want more pics, let me know!

Sorry, I can't find the edit button, but I forgot to mention it has a single hole steam tip and had a full group head service about 5 months ago, so seals, gaskets, shower screen, etc...

To help prospective buyers, it would be helpful if you show a picture of the base without the drip tray in place to show any rust, if any.

Good luck with the sale.

Hi Im interested in this. Any idea what approximate year or version this is? Assuming it runs well and stays pretty temp-stable with the heatsink?

Im in London and could come out to pick it up. Thanks

I believe its a mid to late 90's model, but I might be corrected by someone that knows more..

It runs really well, quick heat up etc. The temp stability is much improved with the heat sink, and you have more of an idea of what it's doing with the temp probe, but I'd be lying if I said it's as good as a machine with PID!

Thanks. Will wait to see the pic of the base sans drip tray. Assuming it's OK then I'll take it!
