Scultura ECZ351 Tips

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I’m new here. I currently have the Scultura, I’m looking to upgrade but in the meantime does anyone have any tips on how to improve the drinks from the Scultura? I drink a couple of espressos and cappuccinos a day.  I use pre ground coffee. I’m hoping to get a decent grinder  soon. Is a non-pressurised basket worth getting?

Thanks in advance.

Al

That depends on the grinder you pick up. I have a basic low end burr grinder which can't go fine enough for unpressurised, but does improve the taste of my morning cup. If you can pick up a real espresso capable grinder, then trying it with an unpressurised basket is worth your time. Tho you will also need a better tamper as the plastic thing is simply inadequate. 6 quid on ebay will get something useable.

If nothing else, grinding your beans fresh before you brew will step up the coffee you make significantly, as coffee loses taste as soon as its ground. Though to most folks you won't notice the difference until the ground coffee is more than 18-24 hours old.

Gear:

Gaggia Baby 2001, Gaggia Color 2007, Delonghi Dedica, Severin grinder, Marcfi badged Compak K6 2004

Sent from my grinder using smoke signals.
