....Lavazza Premium Qualita ORO beans for the first time. Best "off the supermarket shelf" variety so far tried. £5 from Waitrose for 250gr beans. Full bodied 100% Arabica, medium roast, intense chocolate with caramel and a hint of roast hazelnut in there. Grown at 1600m altitude, really full of flavour without much bitterness and more complex after-taste than Rossa or similar. Good crema. Had to adjust my grinder for about a 30% finer grind than my previous Lavazza Rossa blend but knock the mass back a little for a 16gr double shot (I normally have a little more using Rossa). I have found this their best yet, preferring it to their Espresso and other blended bean roasts. Recommended!
I used this bean with 16gr double shot espresso and about a half teaspoon of demarera suger (*I know....henious crime!). I have also tried a double shot which is simply topped up with water after a 30 second brew/dispensing time and added a little milk which was also good.

I'll give that a go Tom...we have a Morrisons not too far off. I'm still using up some Illy and have some Lavazza still unopened to get through first.
