Coffee corner / trolley / island set-up

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Still fairly new here but I just bought my first set of proper coffee machines (Sage DTP and a Mazzer SJ).

I am fairly limited on kitchen counter space and was thinking of creating a separate coffee corner / trolley / island. I was looking at the following options from Ikea:

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/flytta-kitchen-trolley-stainless-steel-00058487/

 https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/foerhoeja-kitchen-trolley-birch-80035920/

I haven’t measured these up against the machines yet (still waiting for the DTP to arrive) but does anyone have any feedback on these trolleys or any other tables / trolleys they had used?

Would also love to see photos of your non-kitchen counter coffee setup.

cheers

I've got a bigger island that I use for coffee, but think they stopped making it . Also a large amount of kit to go on it and it doesn't have wheels.

Decent Espresso - check out their thread on here - did some updates to the Bror island, both the smaller and larger one depending on what they were doing at the time but I think for home you could likely use it as-is...

As linked above, I have one of the larger Bror 'work bench' in an alcove in my living room that I use as a coffee station with the shelves shared by other coffee bits and bobs and any spirits we have! Looked at the trolley first but decided on the bigger work top of the bench, both nicely made, solid and have a bit more about them than a normal kitchen trolley but they are on the pricier side.

Thanks both. Seems like the Bror trolley/ work bench is the way to go. I’ll have to measure it up against the space in my living room and will order. So excited to have my first ever set up!

It's probably not of interest anyway but think I remember that Decent Espresso managed to somehow put the wheels on the bigger one as well - would be described in there thread in case it was of interest to anyone...
