Sage Dual Boiler EcookShop

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone picked up the Sage Dual Boiler that was up for sale at ECookShop recently. I bought one but it ended up on the preorder side of things as they had run out of stock, so will be arriving at the end of the month. Just curious to hear from the ones that have gotten theirs and how they have been fairing. The pricing seemed way too good to be true so is the machine brand new or possibly an older model that they wanted to get rid of?

Also any helpful tips from anyone experienced with this model would be great for a person who is new to the manual espresso type machines, e.g. any scaling problems or issues that this specific machine is known to have

Thanks

I got one (although not allowed it til Xmas day!)

I was dubious as seemed to be super cheap but everything is brand new and sealed.

Obviously havent used it yet but can't see any reason why there would be issues.

I have purchased this, the Black Truffle one at £699, as a gift to myself for my 40th birthday which was on 1st December. I received it a few days before my birthday, set it up on the day itself. A steep learning curve for me so I am not yet producing the sort of coffee I would like for my money but that's user error not the machine. The machine is perfect, sealed and very nice indeed. Im now desperately searching for some knowledge people that may be able to help me use the machine!

Make sure you register it and use the white glove service they provide. It's quite useful.

I bought one from them in September. Came with 4 wine glasses so doubly pleased. As already said, register with Sage to get extended guarantee and free water filters for 3 months.

Hey sorry didn't get any notifications for this thread. Got mine 2 weeks but have had trouble pairing a grinder for it. Thanks cambocheff for the advice about registering. What grinders are you guys using for this machine?

Bought a niche earlier, should be here early next week, and seems a bargain for £500

Been realllly debating getting one of those ? Think I've spent more time debating what colour to get rather than whether i should actually get it or not. What colour did you get?

Thank you. White glove all booked in for later this month. I am finding it very difficult to enjoy the machine as I just cannot get consistent espresso despite my best attempts/hours of reading and many wasted beans!

Might I ask what grinder you’re using. I was getting some super tasty flat whites with little tinkering.

I had mine at the following:

93c Temp
6 sec PI @ 55%

Using some Horsham Kenyan beans and square mile red brick.

All of those were 19g in a 20g VST basket. Producing 38-40g coffee in about 29 seconds (timed from the first drops in the cup NOT from pressing the button to start). Total brew time was about 38-40 seconds on the sage.

These are just a guide to what I used.
