E8 or similar - single dose or hopper for pourover?

Hey folks,

 

I've switched between having a hopper part full of beans (at least the neck of the grinder full) and single dosing, both with an ear syringe used to blow out any remaining grounds after grinding.

 

Which method would you recommend for grinding for pourover (or any brew method if the same)?

Depends how long you leave the part ground beans in the neck of the grinder & whether you taste a difference between the 2 approaches? I doubt single dosing will degrade grind quality significantly.

Probably a day or two in the neck. I haven't done a scientific side by side comparison of single dose vs hooper so I couldn't give a good answer which tastes better.

You would surely taste something that was off? If you don't, then you don't have a problem.

I wouldn't worry about science too much, enjoy nice drinks and put something else on the mantlepiece where you left a space for the Nobel prize :-)
