Vertigo home remedies

Recommended Posts

Looking for help really. Any tricks or tips to help? My wife is suffering really bad at the moment so we need her better.

Docs have just given anti-sickness pills. They don’t help much.

Oh goodness, sorry to hear that Joey ☹️

I can't offer any advice but do pass on our good wishes for a speedy recovery. Diagnosis of the reason is key, I’d guess.

Thanks M. Doctor says everything looks ok in ears and such. She did have a concussion the week before though so I think it’s to do with that, but doc doesn’t. Hopefully it passes soon

If you at all worried I’d suggest seeing another doctor and if the symptoms worsen seek advice from 111, they are very helpful.

Have you looked at bppv? Caused by crystals in your ear moving. I had it a few years ago had it for 6 months, went ENT, the specialist did one manoeuvre and it’s been gone ever since! Epley manoeuvre I think it’s called

Ian didn’t have any symptoms once he was home, after a day or two. Maybe record the symptoms over the next few days and see how things go but don’t hesitate to talk to your doctor if you have any doubts or concerns of any sort.

I’ve never found any treatment or remedy, my mum gets it, and so do I, it can be terrifying, so if you’ve had a diagnosis of vertigo rather than anything more serious then that’s positive.

Yeah she has had it on and off since second child which is strange.

I have seen something online about a manoeuvre you can do but wanted to see if there’s much YouTube guidance. Don’t want to end up making it worse.

Thanks for the replies.

No other signs of infection? Or is this a chronic vertigo?

Not according to the doctor. We are nearly three days in now so it’s getting tiring for her. The last couple of episodes lasted about the same so fingers crossed tomorrow will bring a better day for her.

From what I’ve just read, BVVP can follow a concussion. This totally makes sense so I’d guess that’s the answer. No idea what the f*ck our doctor is talking about then by saying a head injury wouldn’t cause it

Just read this. Sorry mate. Will be thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed.

This video perfectly explains the Epley Manoeuvre. Worth trying at home I reckon. Looks entirely credible following a head injury:

Literally watched this video about an hour ago. Tempted to give it a whirl for sure as it does make so much sense. Fingers crossed it does the trick. Thanks for taking to time to search out the video

Unfortunately not. Going to try bust some moves on her later to see how that helps. She’s just exhausted bless her. Thankfully grandparents have been able to step in and help out while I have to work.

if she's had a concussion, don't muck around, get her to a walk in centre and get her checked out.  Hopefully you'll just waste a couple of hours waiting but don't take your GP's word for it.

regarding medicine, my wife finds that Stugeron 15 travel sickness pills can help with vertigo symptoms.

Never had it, but as others said go to A+E or walk in or see another GP.  As in my experience the are so different and care they offer varies.  Our Gp is nothing like you see on TV programs like gp's behind closed doors on C5.  Our gp's seem to want you in and our fast as possible and don't seem to be listening and they have 4-6 ladies on the phones, takes ages to speak to ours usually only one on reception!

Hope it gets sorted soon!
