Volume of Niche vs Iberital MC2.

Recommended Posts

I currently have an Iberital MC2 which I have had for a few years.   My wife is always moaning about how loud it is.

I believe the Niche is going to be much quieter in comparison, this could be a great selling point if true.

Explaining to my wife about the better grind is wasted.

Can anyone confirm if the Niche is significantly quieter.

Gear:   Gaggia Classic, La Pavoni Euopiccola, Niche zero grinder.

I am sure this is mentioned in the Niche Thread. Did you read it. And most people upgrade the grinder first. Like wheels on a Bike

I’ve had both. Niche is a lot quieter!

It isn’t silent, but you can hold a conversation while using it!

The niche is like a low toned grumble for maybe 10-12 seconds. Definitely the quietest grinder I’ve had.

It’s much quieter than a lot of grinders out there. The Mignon is quiet too.

Trying to find a grinder louder than an MC2 would be a challenge.  The noise is loud and not pleasant.

Your wife will be happier

Thanks all for your help.  That was enough to convince the Wife it was necessary.   Niche from the for sale section just purchased :)
