Is this a PID?

Recommended Posts

Folks,  please excuse all of my questions but this electric espresso is all new to me and I have a second hand Gaggia Classic on the way. Is this kit the same as a PID? If I'm going to be tearing this thing apart when I get it I might install one if I can afford it.

Any other low cost alternatives? How hard is it to set one up from Ebay parts?

No, it doesn't have PID algorithms and switch by relay, it will be clicking all the time.

Buying expensive equipment won't make you barista!

Thanks. Can't really afford to do a PID kit right now but thought while I had it apart I'd install it if I could do something that inexpensively.

All these ITC1000 units do is make and break the mains supply at a set temp so they are totally inappropriate for a Gaggia, ideal for home brewing beer.

Always give the hardest job to the laziest person because they will always find the easiest way to do it.🤡
