LSOL June - Kiss the Hippo [London]

Message from KtH
Hey LSOL’ers, thanks for choosing our coffee this month I hope you’ve enjoyed playing round with it for the last couple of weeks. Halaka is a great coffee and one that I am always drawn to when we do our weekly QC cuppings, but then again I do have a soft spot for naturals! In case you were still wondering our go-to brew recipe is on the tasting card & is always a good place to start exploring.

Well done all who guessed it was an Ethiopian Natural but no one guessed it was from Guji so hang your heads in shame!

Great coffee this. Gonna have to order more.

My taste is starting to come back, not quite fully there yet but I'm just drinking this in espresso, it's beautiful! 18g in 42g out in around 35 seconds I think it was, with a little pre-infusion.

So juicy, I can't say I can pick out much yet, more chance tomorrow. I've also invited a random forum member round, like you do, will make sure he has some tomorrow 😂

Niche Zero, Lelit Bianca, Claris Ultra filter, Torr Tamper with NickNak handle, BT Wedge distribution tool, Felicita ARC scales, MildredM towels. Fully converted by Coffee Forums UK.

Well he is coming to get a levelling tool, it would be rude not to offer him a coffee and geek out over machines at the same time.

You are welcome any time M, if you are ever passing near Coventry. Though you'd have to steam your own milk as my skills are very lacking there, but I've seen pictures of your pro looking latte art.

I'm really enjoying these and so is my wife and my co-director.  They taste great and are pleasing to work with (the beans - lol).  At home I'm around 18 to 40 or 18 to 42 with the EK in around 35s (still fine tuning a bit).  At work with the Niche I'm happy with the above recipe 18 to 36 in 29s.

Home: Ambient Vesuvius, Probat EK43 & Feldgind

Work: Sage Dual Boiler & Niche Zero

I’m getting better results going longer. 18=>44g 39secs. I’m getting much more fruit and sweetness.
