ECM Barista - water tank connection leak

Recommended Posts

Hi Baristas !

I've had my ECM Barista for nearly 2yrs now and luv it.

Of late I have noticed water puddles between base of water tank and metal housing containing the tank.

To the point now it leaks outside of machine.

I know the o'ring is the culprit and have changed it but still noticing leaks !

Has anyone encountered this and rectified the problem ?

I believe possibly the connecting parts are not to correct size and the o'ring cannot perform adequately.

Anyone else tried diff size o'rings to overcome the issue ???

I'm also considering to accommodate a float valve system in my tank to allow for mains water (filtered)......anyone attempted this before ??

🙂

Welcome to the forum.

If you can, please take a few pictures of the tank connections and also of he actual puddle of water. People should be able to help you better if they can see what’s going on.

My thoughts are if the leak has not reduced or increased by replacing the 'O' ring it could well be leaking elsewhere in close proximity,  have you tried using a small inspection mirror to locate ?.

Jon.

Approximately one month ago, I've had the similar issue with filling the tank. I've installed cheap Chinese faucet and water was leaking, somewhere between it and the water tank of coffee machine. But after that I've decided to change it to more expensive model Hansgrohe Axor (one of these: https://cozyhousetoday.com/best-luxury-kitchen-faucets-reviews/), and the issue has gone. I like it, that some manufacturers make kitchen faucets nowadays from premium materials.

And did you try the different size of connection tubes?
