Gaggia Classic + Auber PID and Mazzer Super Jolly

Recommended Posts

Offering for sale (available from Sunday 19th) my Gaggia Classic fitted with Auber PID and a Mazzer Super Jolly.

Gaggia.

2011 and I'm the 3rd owner. Originally purchased from here.

Since I took ownership I have fitted the brass dispersion plate, a cafelat 8mm silicone group seal (this could probably use an 8.5mm if I'm honest however the portafilter locking at 5 o'clock never bothered me) and an IMS shower screen. This also has the Rancillio steam wand upgrade fitted by the 1st owner.

I have the original shower screen but not the dispersion plate.

Comes with the original portafilter handle and a blind, 2 x single, a double and a triple basket, and tamper (Shown in grinder pics)

I purchased this for £180 and I'd like to see the same ONO considering the small upgrades I've added that made a good machine a bit better (in my view)

The machine is in good nick, I have used mostly RO water with a little bicarb added, however on occasion it has had a tank of Bristol water through it. I've descaled it 4 times in 2 years using Puly descaler and backflushed using TannGo.

Overall good condition but you must expect a few marks on the brushed steel casing - it is not "factory fresh"

Mazzer.

Mazzer Super Jolly timer model 2010, no hopper (lens hood included) and fitted with doser with a clean sweep mod. Burrs seem to be fine.

I purchased this from Mr Shades a couple/three years ago and pretty much gave it a good clean, wipe down etc and put her straight into use. The plan was to refurbish and repaint, however I'm bone idle, have two kids and a house renovation that leaves me little time to indulge in hobbies or restoration projects.

Grinds very well and the action is smooth to adjust. Not a lot else to say really except it's an SJ, and since I've owned it it's had maybe 250-500g a week put through it so still plenty of life I should think in the burrs.

Bought for £180 and I would like to realise the same ONO as this also includes the grinds tray I recently bought from Mr Shades!

Condition is overall good, however paint has a few dinks and chips as when I purchased it.

I'm not going to post, however I live in Bristol and I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet halfway (20 miles ish) to help someone who may be interested out.

I'm open to do a deal on both - offers in the region of £320 OVNO as I think this a good price and starting point for someone just starting on their coffee journey.

I'm also open to offers on each machine individually.

Thanks for reading - any Q's please fire away, but please keep any negotiations on this thread.

Hi,

I won't post but happy to meet up somewhere near Bristol if that's any good to you?

Are you interested in just the grinder or the espresso machine also?

Ok, speak to your friend, however please understand that the risk will have to be borne completely by you if your friend posts it to you.

I'm just about to go on holiday for a week so will pick this thread up sporadically most likely - hope that's ok.

What do you think that the coffee machine weights? I will price up a courier to pick it up from you? As well. It would be insured

Thanks

Not urgent however I'm away on holiday and not back until the 1st June.

I've not had chance to weigh it but it's a fair weight. If you are prepared to weight until I'm back next Saturday I'll weigh it for you so you know for sure.

I would think no more than 15kg

Just for clarity and being open, whitehackle has offered £160 for the Gaggia and will arrange own courier.

Comms are difficult as I'm currently in Tunisia with sketchy WiFi at best - I'm back on Friday and hope to sort out finer details with whitehackle then.

All the pics got a bit jumbled but I'm posting these here to prove condition and how I've packed up the Gaggia for Whitehackle so there can be no quibbles - any damage is clearly down to the courier after I have dropped off to the courier on Monday as Whitehackle and I have agreed in PM.

I've accepted the offer of £160 by PayPal friends and family, courier to be arranged at Whitehackles expense.

Mazzer still for sale @wan

What's in the box:

Gaggia, 1 x blind basket, 2 x single, 1 x double and 1 x triple baskets (in water reservoir)

Tamper and spare handle (in reservoir)

Portafilter handle

Steel drain tube (sellotaped to top of machine)

Reservoir cover and drip tray (sellotaped in place)

PID removed from side of machine to hopefully protect in transit, whole machine bubble wrapped!

Found a nice little milk jug I've chucked in as a bonus for Whitehackles patience with me being on holiday!
