Coffee shops in Cape Town?

Recommended Posts

I'm your man!

Originally South African myself and my wife is from Cape town. So I've spent a lot of time there.

From your list on the article the only one I've been to Truth. Truth is like no other coffee shop I've been to, other than good coffee the atmosphere and decor (steampunk) is incredible.

Origin is another great coffee shop, nothing like truth in terms of decor but the coffee there is usually better than truth.

You will also find Bootlegger coffee shops dotted around the city, although they're a franchise all branches I've visited have always been consistent.

Now on to my favourite, possibly because it's new or possibly because their coffee is better than everyone else I've tried - blue door coffee in Simon's town. It's a little far out from the city centre but Simon's town is a must visit place anyway so I'm sure you'll probably be heading that way anyway :)

Coffee culture in Cape town is big! You shouldn't have trouble finding good coffee wherever you go.

Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know about the place, happy to help out where I can :)

Sorry I can't help you there as I don't drink.

Thanks to Fez for the recommendations -- for the benefit of anyone else travelling there, in terms of coffee alone my personal favourite was Rosetta Roasters, although if you're in Simon's Town do go to Blue Door.
