Review of the New Classic

Recommended Posts

Still needs a pid
It could have been so much better had they fitted one. Even a hidden non adjustable one (like in the DTP) would be an improvement.

Preinfusion would have been a nice touch too.

But wouldn’t that have pushed it into a different price bracket?

Not necessarily. After the initial R&D of a bespoke PCB, manufacturing them could conceivably be cheaper than the mechanical thermostats these days.

I'm not complaining that it doesn't have a factory fitted PID ;-)

I've always said that a "Classic Pro" model with PID would make a huge amount of sense, but still they continue with stats.

Lots of everything: machines, grinders, roaster, beans, tampers, baskets, blah, blah

However - Too much is never enough!

Fingers crosses your PID fits again now they've gone back to the old boiler.

I’ll make sure it does - as soon as I can afford to actually buy one!!!

Careful with the switches when you get it. They've swapped the brew & steam around!

Yes, and added that stupid 20min timer technology that will need bypassing ;-)

But it heats up in about 45 seconds!
