Hi,

I'm new to the forum and new to home barista. I am looking at a new setup and am looking at the Mechanika IV Profi or the Technika IV Profi, my understanding is that it is purely cosmetic and price that separate these 2 machines. Any further thoughts or advice would be great. Thanks.

I believe they are the same, bar the external finish as you say. I went for the cheaper one.

This is my understanding too. The peice difference if purely for the "bling" of the Technika over the Mechanika - the internals are the same

Make sure you are comparing prices for the same version of each machine. IMO, rotary pump and joystick controls are well worth having. The rotary pump is only available in the plumbable version - go for this option even if you have no intention of plumbing it in.

Checkout Coffee Team up in the north east for very good prices (and general service) on ECM and a great deal on the Technika Profi IV/S-Automatik 64 grinder
