LSOL October - Atkinsons [Lancaster]

Recommended Posts

Or 50p to get sent to a local post office for pick up tomorrow.
They are at a local post office (sorting office not that far from me luckily). I just work longer hours than the postie, when I have a job on. There's a fair chance I'll be let go before Friday though so all good (insofar as picking up beans goes anyway!)

Jumped straight in this morning, too soon for espresso but still lovely. I’m getting notes of raspberry, fig and butterscotch...ha. Kidding aside, the butterscotch is right there when you open the bag. With milk it gave bags of molasses and brown sugar. Can’t wait to see how it develops.

Still no sign of mine despite being home when the postie delivered. Time to get the emergency bag of beans out of the freezer!

Firstly thanks to fbs and daren for organizing. To Atkinsons for being so fantastically helpful to this lsol first timer you didn't have to go to such lengths but all and any help is gratefully received

I haven't dipped in as yet shall wait for 10 days past roast and give it a go then as I only brew espresso.

Looking forward to it.

It doesn't matter how you get there it's only the end result that matters

Smells amazing. I'm about to run out of beans, so will have to tuck into these a bit earlier than planned.

Leave it a few more days then let me know if it's still not arrived.

I’ve been away for a couple of days, but haven’t received a card or anything.

Scrub the above these arrived this afternoon

Received. Package looked like it had been knocked around a bit but beans are unharmed.

Should be starting on these over the weekend for espresso as running out of beans. Hope they're rested enough.

What's the point...it'll only change soon!

I was gonna ask if anyone had given this a go as a ‘spro! I’ll be trying at on Sunday probably.

Tried it already, don't think I've quite got it dialled it yet as a couple have been a bit bitter.

I think its better as a spro, but in milk -which it cuts through. im still trying different grind settings but finer seams the way to go

Mega juicy brew this morning. 15g > 240ml in 2:30. Maybe a bit fast but really juicy and smooth. Nom nom nom.

I’m really enjoying these as v60 (today’s was best so far 15/250g in 3:00) and in a flat white where sweet butterscotch was delicious yday. I’d definitely order these again. Thanks as always to fbs and Daren for organising.

First try at spro today. Definite butterscotch! Very promising at the first try.

I reckon I can easily guess the altitude and process;)

2nd lot 17.3g>30g 9s pre infusuion total 28s R120 4 o'clock puq press 12kg; butterscotch.

Possibly need another couple of days for straight espresso but fine in milk.

Will filter tomorrow.

Thanks all for organising

Have only been having these at 'spro based until now (currently got some Drop beans for filter duties).

Recently switched over to Oat 'milk' from dairy, so everything tastes a bit oaty at the moment, but the butterscotch is cutting through reliably.

Do need to put them through V60 to try and pick up the Raspberry.

Another good pick @fatboyslim / @Daren :good:

Are we doing guesses this month given the additional info. provided - if so, and based on minimal knowledge (i.e. wild stab) - Kenyan
