LSOL October - Atkinsons [Lancaster]

Recommended Posts

This month's roaster, incredibly, was established in 1837! I hope they don't mind me using this old picture of their cafe.

Thoroughly interesting read About Atkinsons

The coffee I've chosen is one from an origin I've not bought from at all since taking over from Fluffles nearly a year and a half ago so we're all well overdue to visit this fine coffee producing country. I also understand this particular farm/lot holds special significance to Atkinsons so I look forward to hearing about it in the big reveal.

Hey @fatboyslim I'm thinking of getting involved again this month but I'll be out of the country later this month, just wondering if you have an idea of when this will be roasted/shipped?

Thank you! :)

I lived within walking distance of this place until recently, and it's the only roaster I've used for many years. Count me in please!

I may have made a note of it (no pun intended) in my spreadsheet, when I could still be bothered to keep such detailed notes.

Too late to go turning my pooter on now, but if the answer eludes you, and I find that I wrote it down I'll tell you!

Again I hope they don't mind, here is a cool picture of their shop that was posted on twitter today. This is what a coffee shop should look like imo

It really is a wonderful shop, and I used to be in there every week. The smell of roasting coffee regularly fills the air in

town.

They have a slightly more spartan cafe/bakery next door, The Hall, which does wonderful espresso, well worth a visit if you're in the area.
