I blew up my Gaggia Classic...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I bought a Gaggia Classic from eBay in 2015 but did not have much time using it until 1 month ago. Anyway long story short, after producing a really nice latte (in fact, the best I ever managed to pull off), I cant turn it up anymore.

The machine was quite hot when I turned it off so just wondering whether I blew up the boiler or any important part inside.

I attached some photos below. Can someone guess what happened and whether it's worth repairing the machine, given I have no knowledge of mechanics whatsoever, and will have to buy all parts/tools?

It's possible the thermal fuse has blown. Did you refill the boiler after steaming?

Hi Ashcroc, by refilling do you mean running the machine once more before turning it off. Normally I would do so but now thinking of it I did forget. What is the impact of this?l
