Looking for a filter machine....but which one?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just looking for advice,

I'm wanting to get a filter coffee machine (to compliment my aeropress).

Just wondering if anyone has used the Merlitta Look (glass or flask without the hot plate)?

Or whether I should spend the extra and on a Moccamaster or a Wilfa Svart Classic

any advice greatly appreciated,

I’ve got a Melitta which has the flask & the coffee never tastes stewed which you tend to get with a hot plate. Works well imo, has it about a year now & seems to be going strong

A machine, a grinder & some beans

We have had Moccamaster Technivorm and Moccamaster grinder for over 2 years, and we have been very happy. We had many filter machines over the years, but this combo has delighted us from the first day. We got both from Bellabarista, and we also subscribed to their Roastery for fresh beans every 2 weeks. We think whatever you go for, fresh beans are probably the most important, followed by a good grinder. Even though our grinder isn't in the top league, because it was built to partner the Technivorm, we have found it to be very consistent. Hope this helps.
