LSOL May/June - Long and Short Exclusive!!!

Has definitely improved with age for espresso, even the spent pucks smell nice in the bin for compost! :)

How were v60s?

Haven't tried a proper v60 since the last attempt using Rao process and too much water / agitation, might try again tomorrow with the 02 using pulsed pours as still prefer to make a 500g of water in, brew.

Not bad through the Moccamaster at 38.3g to 750ml water and Filtropa white filters, sweet but loses a little of the extras that were hinted at with espresso and Chemex (been trying to use all brew methods at least once a fortnight, even had a go with the mypressi twist which was sublime but suspect the gas also had an effect here)

On my last few brews of this from beans out of the freezer. Still tasting fantastic. Also one of my favourite LSOL coffees so far.

Top job @mrbagel

Improved with resting longer, I'm finding 25 sec pours for espresso gets the best out of this, nearer 30 secs tends to be slightly bitter.

What's the point...it'll only change soon!

Agree although I’m getting good results up to 38 secs with low pressure 18=>40g lovely beans I have to say

Last of the beans today tried it standard pressure for a change. 18g=>42g 37 secs.

One of the tastiest shots I’ve had from these, going slightly choc but some excellent fruit booze going on.

Always the way that the last shot is usually the best :D

I've still got a few shots of this in the hopper. I've enjoyed a few aeropresses of it too, but in this weather it's been too hot for hot coffee so I've been enjoying it as cold brew too. Still waiting for my Kickstarter puckpuck to turn up so I can do cold drip, but in the meantime I've been doing immersion cold brew. 60g/litre, 2.4 on the Aergrind, anywhere between 12-20 hours (I am filtering ad hoc rather than the whole batch). Longer is good. Lovely bright fruity notes despite the low acidity that comes from cold brewing.

Edit. Meant to say, I'm immersing using a 1 litre bottle, then using the aeropress purely as a filter. The paper filters give a cleaner lighter cup, but I actually like the aerdisc metal filter that came with the Aergrind KS pledge I backed. This allows some of the oils through (as well as a few fines) which gives a bit more mouthfeel. Nom.
