Sette 270W Brew Burr - any users?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried fitting the optional brew burr into the Sette? If so, I'd be keen to hear experiences before I and place an order.

Thanks!

Not tried, but was similarly minded a while back.

As I understand it (from a discussion with CoffeeHit, and looking at HB), it's simply a case of popping the current burr out (in its holder), and putting the brew one in.

So, reasonably straight forward.

I chose to stick with my feldgrind for brewed rather than swapping burrs back and forth, so never purchased.

I’ve decided to move over to brewed exclusively for the foreseeable future. Did you hear anything about their performance and grind quality?

I have the brew burr. It is easy to switch between the two, but I found it still ground nowhere near coarse enough for press, so I've stopped using it and instead use a Lido 2 for brew methods and am attempting to dial in the Sette for espresso using the AP burr.

I have one in a 270W and find it works well for pour over with my V60 and Kalita Wave 185. Not much room to go any courser. The AP burr is only good for espresso but it does dial in with ease.

Thanks for your replies. I have bought the burr! At £18 I thought it would be worth trying as I journey over from espresso to brewed. I've got the Acaia Pearl coming too so it will be interesting to see how the grinder bluetooth and scale link up in the Acaia app.

You don't need to be grinding so coarse for press, something like drip grind will be fine.

To each their own I guess. I prefer to grind coarser for press.

You're only delaying the inevitable grinder update

I wish! If I came home with an EK43 my wife would make sure my knackers were the first thing she put through it!
