Pictures in Posts....

Recommended Posts

I really don't mind but I seem forever to be rotating pictures in folks posts.

It really isn't difficult to do when adding a photo to get it the correct way up.

Not too sure in Windows but in a Mac simply export the pic to the Desktop then open it with 'Preview' or 'Photos' & just rotate & save under a different name to the Desktop. When ready to use just add to your Post by clicking 'Insert Image'.

In tapatalk on my phone I click on the upside down photo and slowly rotate 180 degrees, magically photo is correctly orientated. This might work on other devices, although would be easiest if presented correct way up to start.

It seems that if the photo is too wide or big, it gets automatically turned by 90° which is annoying if to a human it seems the right orientation to start with. The way I avoid this when uploading pics from my phone on tapatalk is to use the photo editor to crop, rotate and then resize to under 1000px to make sure the forum software (or whatever) doesn't turn it the wrong way.

@mines_abeer how do you click and rotate in Tapatalk? Do you mean other people's pics or one you're about to post? I am using Tapatalk on android and I've tried clicking and using 2 fingers to rotate but it just zooms in and out.

Rotating others photos, ie pictures which have already been posted, I found by accident if I click on the wrongly oriented photo and slowly turn phone upside down, may take a couple of goes to get right, the photo then appears the right way up on screen.

Ah I see. Not fixing it exactly, you mean temporarily preventing the pic from automatically rotating while you view it. Yes, I just tried that - finger on pic and slowly rotate phone.

Yes just a temp way of viewing them the correct way around

I've not figured out the fix for this on tapatalk either. As long as I take the photo from tapatalk (choosing camera - photo, rather than gallery or attachment), then I can upload. As long as I take it in landscape, then its orientation is ok. Portrait needs rotating, but from tapatalk, don't know how.

So I try to pre-take the picture before posting, no luck because any photos in my phone library I try to attach to the post.. I see the % go up to 100% during upload, but then it says 0 kb...

Is it my Android problem? Tapatalk problem? Or me problem

Not sure why that's happening. I agree you need to take the pic and resize/rotate in your phone's photo editor before posting via TT.

When I add It to a thread in tapa it's the right way round. When I viewed it on another account it isn't.

Tapa is shit.

Getting to the point I can't be arsed posting pics.

Crapatalk is indeed far from perfect. And the devs keep changing stuff that didn't need changing instead of fixing what's broken. Shame there aren't better alternatives to make them up their game - I dread each new release of Crapatalk, but it still remains the easiest way to browse a forum on the go.

Better a sideways pic than no pic - I don't mind rotating my phone to view your posts Martin!

Sadly we are at Tapatalks mercy where support is concerned.

They are receptive to feedback but often hamstrung by the plethora of plugins other forums have.

Some people have tapatalk logo by their name. I can figure out what that means

What is that blue diamond with a V inside it?
