Ideas to fill the burr chamber gap

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Grinder is due a clean and it's getting boring cleaning out the area where the spindle nut is.

Does anyone have any ideas what I could fill the gap with?

Cheers

How will the beans get between the burrs if you blank it off?

Rocket R58Ceado E37SAeropressAerGrind • Puck Puck cold brew widget • VST 18g basket • Torr Goldfinger 58.5 convex black Ti/walnut tamper • Torr Goldfinger 58.5 flat sharp edge tamper • Big bag o' beans • Triumph Street Triple 675R

you mean the gap between the burr inner edge and the carrier and the spindle - where the grinds can get under the burrs- hmm ive thought about recently and why only the outer edge of the burr makes contact with the carrier. One thought is putting some high density foam under it or silicon - not tried it yet

all opinions are my own I have not received any free equipment or favours from suppliers

Just to fill the depression between the spindle nut up to the lower burr so I don't get all that waste in there, e.g. that half bean

I didn't mean fill the whole thing as as you said the beans wouldn't get into the burrs.

Would need to be food ish safe and not able to come free and get ground!

Guess its just a defect to live with?

Cheers

Extra large stainless washers? Can get that sort of thing at a chandlery (sea proof stuff for boats) if not in regular hardware store.

Espresso: Ceado E92 (modified for single dose); Vesuvius; VST baskets and refractometer.

Other: Aeropress, Sowden and Alessi Moka Pot; Mazzer Robur doser with Auber timer; Mazzer Mini E; Expobar Leva Dual Boiler
