Yes also - just getting into it and have just bought a bike. Even though I fully subscribe to the n+1 theory for bikes it might be a little soon for me. Good luck with the sale.

It's a great bike, I'm just sad I'm not getting out on it enough.

Might have to bite the roadie bullet.

I have two giants at the moment. Defy 3 road and an anthem X3 29er.

The defy is a great bike if you want to go road and you can get them used for good money. As long as they aren't too worn out!

I've had giants previously recommended to me so will take a look.

If you come across a giant Bowery from 2011 I think it is (it's red and white) let me know. It's a fixie. I had one before and wish I never sold it lol

Here's mine...

Cannondale Killer V 500, with XT stuff and PACE MXCD forks. #retrotastic

Before that (which I still have..)

Off-Road Pro-Flex 950. Stripped the frame (made a naff job, it was all the rage at the time) and changed the flex-stem to a pair of Trek DS-2 air-oil forks.

It's now just a frame+forks (and crank, plus original egg-rings)

You know when you're getting old, when stuff described as vintage/retro was new when you bought it..

Such as..

They stopped making these yeeeaaaaarrss ago.. And they have virtually no padding...

Looks like DX Vees to me - nice!!

It's a mix'n'match. My Pro-Flex was full XT and I stripped it. The wheels on this are are XT hubs, and Mavic rims (IIRC). Onza bar ends from the 90's as well and XT spuds. You might also notice the original Crud Catcher when they first came out..

Here's my 3.

First is my trusty Cannondale beast of the east from 1988 with the station house logo and 'hand built in the USA' decal, a 24" back wheel, Suntour Rollercam rear brake and Flexstem as original. I put Rockshox Indy Cs on it at some point in the early 90s but wish I could put it back to the original rigid Pepperoni forks now as I only use it for going to the shops. Proper retro now though.

My off road weapon of choice is the Cannondale Jekyll with the lefty fork. Always gets a reaction from other bikers and non-cyclists alike.

Road bike is the old TCR. It's a bit long in the tooth now but rides well. Campag Eurus wheels and Record group makes for a nice ride. 0dbab0b9b6d44bc13bb80fd47ff89b5b.jpg4c5671cd8ab9571f4f1e467cdf72af33.jpg45e2547660a875cb8fed4d1e0e81a3bc.jpg

This was my jump bike. It broke my wrist though so now it lives in Wales.

My Defy 3 that carried my fat arse from Whitehaven to saltburn a couple of years back

And this is my Anthem 29er. Absolute beast and normally have a child hanging on the front of it in one of those Thule ride along seats.

Ahh the good old days. Back when I had all of my hair and used to go to the gym once a week.

Can't remember what bike I had then but remember it being a pain to change gears.

Ahh my bouncy bike. So much love for this thing but had to sell it. Blasted the French alps on it for a week, best most tiring holiday I've ever had.

Great bike. I used to help out on a Saturday at my mates bike shop where we stocked Giant, so the temptations were terrible. That's why I ended up with a ton of bikes!

I can understand the temptation thing. My Anthem lived in the kitchen for the first month, I loved that bike! C/fibre, weightless for a m/b really, and just such a joy to ride. Eddy Merckx road bikes for summer. We were out every weekend back then. A wonky shoulder and subsequent ops on both shoulder put paid to that.

Oh no must be frustrating. I've never been the same since breaking my wrist so can't ride like I used to.

I always remember two days into the France trip, my mate who was following me came off and dislocated his shoulder. We were gutted for the lad.
