Power fault.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

My Izzo Alex Mk1 developed a new fault this weekend.

It is having an intermittent power fault where the power to the machine cuts out, stopping both the boiler and the pump. The power will then return after a couple of minutes and then cut out again.

When the power cuts, the LEDs on the front also to out.

Does anyone have any experience with a similar fault or any suggestions on how to fix it, or am I going to have to send it away to be repaired?

I replaced the pressurestat a couple of weeks ago, so not sure if that could have any bearing.

Thanks for any help.

Open it up, check it's not a loose wire where the mains connects inside machine.

Check gicar autofill box for a brown mark, if it looks severe, there may be a problem with the box. If so use the mod to lower the autofill to a safer position so it doesn't burn out.

Don't forget to check the plug too. sparking from loose connections often causes black/brown marks so keep an eye out for such. A loose connection under heavy load can cause melting of plastics.
