LSOL - volunteer required to assist in managing this subscription service

Recommended Posts

Martin (@mrboots2u) and fluffles have been doing a sterling job keeping LSOL going and the time has come to change some of the personnel in the running of this fantastic subscription service with Martin stepping down from treasurer of this shortly.

The role of LSOL treasurer involves;

  • Managing the fund (on a quarterly basis)
  • Collection of guest payments (on a monthly basis)
  • Payment of invoice to the Roaster each month
  • Advising me of the remaining balance on a monthly basis

You will be required to hold the funds in your own account, therefore a long standing forum member, whose physical address is known, would be preferable due to the sums involved.

Nominations or expressions of interest can be sent to Glenn via PM so that I can arrange a short phone call to discuss next steps.

I'm sure Martin will not have any issues with a PM to ask about what the role entails either.

I am keen to see this progress and as a last resort I will assume responsibility - but up to now this has not been needed.

Feel free to ask me any questions on here or via pm . I would rather not be holding the bank accounts anymore , as I do self assessment etc...

Just a thought if that's the case, why not have a forum paypal account. With the expectation that people pay F&F or add the fees. With a PayPal.me address it becomes even easier, and people without paypal can pay with a credit/debit card. It would allow @Glenn access and oversight without day to day management. It's how we manage money for a sling library I volunteer with and works really well. Not least for keeping cash out of bank accounts that need multiple signatories or having it in personal accounts.

Did someone say coffee?

Withdrawing to a bank account and then sending is quick enough... (We buy baby carriers!!) And again keeps transparency as the exact amount can be seen

I can't volunteer though I'm afraid. It's too big a task now I'm back at college.

If there are no other volunteers I can probably fit it in if only the payment aspect of things and if have been here long enough to be considered

Would need to speak to bank and stuff but already have an unused account setup so might be good enough.

expect incoming Mr boots
