.

A whole load of waffle that:

a) Either took hours to research and type out

b) Was a simple cut&paste

If a then: You really need to get out more - possibly somewhere in the South where interesting things happen.

If b then: You appear to fit the "Lazy workshy Northerner" stereo-type.

Also "The South" != "London"

Other than that half the points are just plain wrong and the other half just demonstrate your jealousy of things London/Southern.

To highlight just two:

1) There are hundreds of Ales, from all over, that are really decent and unfortunately loads, also from all over, that are sh*te.

As a start I suggest you try pretty well anything from Wychwood.

2) There are two codes of Rugby.

"Rugby League" and "Rugby"..... that says it all really.

There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Manic Obsession"

I'm from London - been up North 10 years - they let me across the Pie Line after I swore not to drink Wychwood or anything with a goblin on it even though it is actually brewed close to the border ; )

No I am confused...... That "Pie Line" has Birmingham in the North!!!! :-O

Now there are many things that Northerners and Southerners disagree about but I am pretty sure that neither of us would ever dream of accepting Brummies into our fold (and to be fair to Brummies I am pretty sure they wouldn't want to be either Northerner or Southerner.......)

Yet but Brum is technically an island as its surrounded by a canals - so it qualifies as its own state a bit like the Vatican city.....

The new North South dividing line is based on economics and effectively just demonstrates the wealth and population of the South East compared to the rest of the UK. I doubt many folk woukd attach any validity to it as a cultural or geographical dividing line - Hereford...in the North?

I never cease to be amazed by the beauty of this country. I have travelled much if the world and still feel my spirits soar when coming back to my little part of the world at this time of year, when the hedgerows are beginning to burst with cow parsley, the woods are full of bluebells and the smell of wild garlic is everywhere.

Yorkshire Dales, Pembrokeshire coastline, Norfolk Broads, even London parks on the first hot day of the spring...we are pretty lucky to call this home!

Back to latte challenge - have we got a date for this? Don't want it clashing with Wimbledon or anything :)

The voice of reason - quite right one country - now if everyone who is waiting for the challenge could raise their voice and sing along.

And did those beans of ancient time,

Brew upon Englands mountains green:

And was the holy Lamb of God,

On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here,

Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;

Bring me my Coffee Beans of desire:

Bring me my Spear: O clouds of steam unfold!

Bring me my latte of desire!

What can I say. The sun is out, I'm enjoying some delicious coffee and listening to Days Like This by Van Morrison (surely one of the best Sunday albums of all time).

Life is good :)

Whilst almost everyone has gone off on a North v South tangent, there's a rather tasty football match at 16:00 (Man City v Arsenal for you non-footie fans! )

Come on you Gunners!

Nice try... but I am fairly sure the Gooners are from daaaa'n saarf and (forgive me if I am wrong) Man City is from somewhere ooooh norf, quite where escapes me as I haven't been oop norf recently (what with the injections, visa etc).. but I am pretty sure they are from grimy, desolate little northern backwater.

I think they're banned from the forum.

OI! Are you trying to get in our "Refined and educated, not to mention, suave, debonair and good looking southerners" vs "Ugly, thick and inbred, knuckle dragging northerners" thread?

Nice work chap. Did you pour that straight after Sanchez scored that beauty of an equaliser this afternoon? More or less guaranteeing Champions League football next season!

More or less, however Liverpool could yet prove to be the spoilers, but hopefully for a Manchester club

8pm tonight - be there or be somewhere else

15 minutes three pours

Smashed cups and tears before bedtime

No desert for you tonight sonny Jim , off to bed and no match of the day either ......

All these flashbacks and more
