London Coffee Prices 2015

Recommended Posts

Could understand £3 for a guest espresso from a microlot/very small farm maybe but would be pushing it otherwise

Assume it is for the standard offering? seems an insane price though.

Edit: I've asked James on twitter. Will let you know!

A lot of places will charge £2.50-£3 for a cup of tea. Hot water and a tea bag. Thats insane

Coffee is just ground up beans and water

Indeed, but the beans are more expensive, as it the machine used to make the espresso, and the skill of pouring hot water onto a bag of twinings is not quite that of a trained barista. There are many places that serve lovely tea that is worth the money, but when it comes to a cup of twinings everyday for £3, I think thats expensive.

That's no worse than someone charging three quid for a shite coffee.

I charge two quid for tea but have loose leaf, make up bags to order and watch the brew time and temp.
