SOLD: E61 - 0.5mm gicleur - £2 each

Recommended Posts

My small collection of 0.5mm E61 gicleurs has now arrived from the US (only 6 days door-to-door Spence!). I've swapped mine, in the Duetto, already (5 min job) and taken a few photos along the way if anyone wants help (but it really is very simple - 22mm socket and 7mm socket as well as a pair of tweezers come in useful!).

After my initial shock at the postage costs from Espresso Parts, coupled with the fact that I bought every 0.5mm gicleur that Espresso Parts had in stock at the time (not that many!) - the price has dropped to about £2 a piece plus postage. I reckon they'll sellotape to a piece of card and pop in a sturdy envelope quite easily - but will still be a Large Letter (90p) due to the 7mm width of the gicleur.

So - £2 a piece plus £1 p&p to the UK.

I've got 10 of them for sale.

Did changing this make any difference. I've just been having a quick read about the gicleur and hadn't even heard of one before.

It follows on from this thread: http://coffeeforums.co.uk/showthread.php?15093-Messing-with-my-Verona-%28water-debit-%28jets%29-brew-pressure-Blu-Tack-lube%29&highlight=gicleur

Generally, although I've only pulled a couple of shots since changing it, the water debit is now much more like it (perhaps) should be... 75ml or so in 10s.

I certainly enjoyed both shots, but probably too early to say it's made a striking improvement.

Although my water debit appears okay and there not being much info about using them with vibe pumps, I'd be interested to experiment with one. I'll take one, thanks.

I'd be interested in these Shades for the Cherub, I still have the original shower screen but if I can improve the shot quality with some of the smaller gicleurs then it's worth a go !

I wouldn't use one with a Vibe pump.

I wouldn't use one with a Vibe pump.

I'd be interested to know why.

Like I say, the debit is close to the supposed optimal 75ml /10 secs, but I feel the machine could still be a bit more gentle on the puck. (Quickmill Andreja Premium)

It's only going to cost £3 to try it.

PMs sent to all of the above that have requested payment details.

6 gicleurs left.

(How satisfying was it to send a PM to Glenn, asking HIM to pay ME some money for a change!)

try it guys,

I did this change a while back on my duetto and I was happy with the results. Makes the passive preinfusion much more gental. The water comes out too quickly with the stock one.

No idea poona - your call... Either you want one or you don't, I'm not giving advice as to whether you'll notice any difference or whether it'll work for you on your machine.

They're simply 0.5mm gicleurs for E61 group heads, and if you want to try it then I'll drop you a PM with payment details and you can give it a go. As others have said, it's hardly a huge commercial risk!

PMs sent to Coffeechap and poona.

4 gicleurs left.
