  1. Do people have experience of this grinder? Is is capable of grinding from brewed coffee to Turkish?! Where is it good and where less so? It is a good price on Amazon it seems. Thanks
  2. My rhinowares arrived (full size, not mini) and a day later broke. Not in a massive way,but my coffees have sludge too - it looks like the inner burr wiggles and although it's not so bad coarser, the grind isn't amazingly consistent. So what to try next? I've seen zassenhaus grinders for sub £100 including the Quito and the caffettiera, but reviews are thin on the ground. The next step up seems to be knock feldgrind but they're unavailable, or the lido 3. I'd like it to be fairly portable but primarily home use. Lido 2 is too big practically as I'm only a little guy! The zassenhaus
  3. So here goes, as posted elsewhere at the moment I am grinderless, I had a Krups as a gift but burnt it out oops. So at the moment using Illy preground which isn’t really satisfactory. The question is which grinder, good reports about the MC2 from the forum but then this got me thinking if I could get a good package deal would it be worth upgrading my machine if I could stretch to it. I saw these deals on T’internet any thoughts? 4. I have been experimenting using an antique Zassenhaus Nr. 495 grinder with surprisingly good results. It is not only better than my newer Zassenhaus but also the Gaggia MM, and a damn sight more convenient. There is something quite satisfying about hand grinding - you feel more part of the process somehow. The only downside comes if you want to pull more than a couple of shots at a time. 5. Yes that`s me off again, contemplating the grinder future this time. Anyway, there, broadly speaking appear to be a number of forum groupings in respect of grinder choices, apologies for any assumptions, errors or omissions. 1. The Iberital MC2 club, presumably purchased as mine was based on performance per pound and generally good reviews on the net. 2. The Mahlkonig Vario group, purchased as a result of excellent reviews ( some naysayers recently though) and the digital control system. 3. Zassenhausers et al, or no mate, elektrikery is the devils work and just check my fl
  6. I have been slowly increasing my knowledge of coffee making ever since I decided I wanted to make an espresso like I those I had drunk in cafés. I didn't realise it at the time that this would be nigh on impossible with the stove-top I was using at the time (although I did achieve what might generously be described as crema occasionally). My experiments eventually lead to me upgrading to a Gaggia Cubika which has until very recently served me well over the years. For all its limitations it is possible to coax a reasonable espresso out of this machine - though it takes some work and it can be a
  7. Hi there, I'm Richie and I am a coffeeholic!. Well not really but I am starting to appreciate the better things in life as far as coffee goes. I now own a cona vac pot, several bodum french presses, a zassenhaus grinder and a small stack of coffee from hasbean.co.uk. I cone onto this site to learn more about coffee, and because I stumbled upon it after putting in a google search about technivorm machines, one of which may well be my next purchase. I hope to stick around a while and learn some more about coffee and eventually hope to be able to home roast as well as home grin
