  1. https://www.slurp.coffee/en/shop/wilfa-coffee-grinder-wscg-2/ On sale in Finland, £70 includes 15 Euro shipping. Could be a good grinder for someone looking to get into brewed. £25 cheaper than Workshop sell for.
  2. Pleasantly puzzled as everything I have read suggests that the wilfa will not grind fine enough for espresso, but I tried it out this morning out of curiosity and the results were great. I used the finest setting on the wilfa with my gaggia classic with unpressurised basket, and got a lovely espresso with tons of crema and lovely flavour. It runs a little fast perhaps, but I suspect with better tamping that would also be improved. I normally use illy black with the gaggia, this was a big improvement. I have been planning to get a grinder for espresso, but the price tag of machines that research told me were suitable was putting me off (I had originally bought the wilfa to accompany a mocca master). Has anyone else tried this combo before? My gaggia and basket combo has clogged up with espresso grind coffee bought from specialty coffee shops before, so I do think that the very finest grind is too fine.
  3. Hello i live en Denmark in a small town called Faaborg. my experience in coffee brewing is just a moccamaster, wilfa grinder and nescafe dolce gusto capsule machine. We only used the nescafe to latte and macchiato. But the machine have broken down. so we started looking around on the net find a better solution, which we hope to get here. We love coffee so will propber look get some other brewing method than the moccamaster.
  4. Hi all. I'm moving overseas soon, so the more bulky coffee apparatus has to go, unfortunately. Selling my trusty Wilfa Svart grinder. It's served me well for the past 2.5 years. It's this model: https://www.wilfa.co.uk/product/kitchen/black-aroma/ Unfortunately I've not got the box and it's also a European plug, so you'll need an adaptor. Price is 75GBP postage included and am happy to post within the UK, or if you're in London I can hand it over in person. Payment by Paypal or bank transfer. Also happy to supply any photos or additional info, if required. Just shoot me a PM. Thanks, Kyle
  5. Hi all, First post :-) I am looking for info on upgrading my grinder and at the moment my preferred choice is the wilfa grinder. I don't make espresso, so don't need a grinder capable of grinding that fine. I'll be using the grinder for grinding for v60 and aeropress. At the moment I use a porlex tall hand grinder and my reasons for upgrading are due to laziness and a more consistent particle size in equal proportions. Actually a more consistent grind size is more important for me. I've heard the burrs wobble or move in the porlex and I do notice particularly in the spent grinds from the v60 that there is different sized particles. My reasons for the wilfa are price and from the few reviews I've seen, really good results. I've not read anything bad about it to be honest. Does anybody have any advice on better options than the wilfa without spending too much more? Does anyone have any opinions on the wilfa grinder, either the old or new version? Thanks all in advance Moultram
  6. Hi Up for sale is this Wilfa grinder. Bought new grinder so I don't need it. £65 posted all in. 6 Months old.
  7. I cleaned out my wilfa svart grinder and ever since, the grind size has been stuck on a very fine setting- almost like the mocca grind every time, even when the hopper is turned to steap setting. I’ve tried taking out the burr and turning it 180 degrees, cleaning it etc. Anyone ever came across this before or know how to fix? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi I’ve been using this for a few weeks and it seems to work well for pourover. I removed the top burr yesterday for cleaning and when I replaced it it just seems to drop in rather than lock or twist in to secure it. Is this normal? It seems a bit lose and when I grind without holding the bean hooper it hasn’t a tendency to spin slightly and therefore changing new the grind. Something doesn’t seem right but I can’t see how it locks in unless I’m being a muppet. Any other iwners able to help? Thanks
  9. Hi, I'm currently using Hario mini mill hand grinder for my Aeropress and Kalita wave filter. But it gets tiring when I was trying to grind for espresso like method using Aeropress which sometimes require more than 25g of coffee and it takes ages to grind it with the mini mill (and uneven grind because since I have to keep changing hand) I was looking around the forum and found Wilfa electric grinder but it doesn't get mention a lot, although after I googled it the review was pretty much positive. Do you guys have other recommendation for burr grinder under £110 and good for manual method brewing like Aeropress, mokapot and filter brewing? Thanks
