  1. I've been using one of these with my machine and it's great. I know they're popular here, so thought some would appreciate knowing they're included in Cyber Monday - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009SA9Z6S?ref_=gb1h_tit_m-4_0887_8df16a92&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE JB
  2. I am thinking of buying a wireless network remote plug (Wemo) As I can often call in at home and grab a cup of coffee when out on business, but do not have time to wait for the machine to warm up. Here lies my question(s) I always turn on my Cherub, as per the instructions, which means opening the steam wand and leaving open until the first steam comes out. No idea why this is necessery, is it?? And Does anybody else use a Wemo?
  3. I'm curious about who will be intrigued or bewildered by the thread topic, or if anyone knows exactly what I'm talking about. Anyone else using Alexa, Google Home or another voice assistant to switch on/off the machine, and any other comedy mis-hearings? I used to get a "Sorry, I can't find a device called this wrestle machine" a couple times per week, but not so much any more. I was getting fed up to the point of changing what it's called, just couldn't decide what else to call it, but will probably leave it since they've either improved their voice recognition, or I've improve
  4. Has anyone managed to overcome the power threshold problem with the Wemo Insight Switch with a Verona machine plugged into it? The lowest you can set it to is 2W. Obviously if both boilers are up to temp, the power is zero so the Wemo will not obey any set rules. I can switch it on and off remotely but the rules are useless.
  5. I saw this today. Probably useful for folks after a Wemo or two...
  6. I quite fancy the ability to turn on the coffee machine remotely and I understand Wemo is the product of choice but my kitchen is out of WiFi range, do Wemos extend the range through the socket or do I need another something to plug in next to it? TIA Mark
  7. Been living with my Cherub for about three weeks now and only just getting comfortable...great machine. I'm an early riser in the morning so the 25 min warm up is a bit of a pain as I'm out the door sharpish. I saw some posts referring to the use of WeMo switches which is very fancy...and quite expensive. No fear...! Step forward the £10 digital mains timer..! Brilliant can set it to come on and switch off Monday to Friday, morning and evening so the Cherub is warmed up when I get out of bed and when I arrive home from work. It even has a different program for the weekend. So I say WeM

    Smart plug

Hey all, Does anyone have a good smart plug that people can recommend? Looking to turn my machine on for warm up using the smartphone? Any good/bad experiences? Cheers, Ben
  9. Hi guys, I added a wemo to my coffee machine earlier in the week. Here is what it is... http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H7338B/A/belkin-wemo-switch Basically I can schedule my machine to turn on and off at a certain time by creating on off rules. Also I can do this as well as manually turn the machine on and off from my phone over the internet. Uses include turning the machine on when my alarm gos off so its up to temperature by the time I actually get up (I realise this is really lazy!!! But I do set my alarm for 5am!!) Also I can turn my machine on when I am

  11. Does anybody use a Wemo switch to warm up an E61 HX machine in the morning? It seems to be the perfect way to ensure that the machine is hot enough for making coffee first thing in the morning. I'm not sure though about the internal electrical circuit stress issues caused by, effectively, powering the machine on from the wall socket.
  12. ...or programme its on/off routine via your iPhone with this gadget: http://www.belkin.com/uk/null-Belkin/p/P-F7C027 OK, you can do the latter with a regular timer, but I like the idea of warming up the machine as I'm on the way home.
  13. I know some poeple are using Wemo's with Cherubs without issue so perhaps I'm missing something here. When I connect my Cherub into my Wemo, I can switch the Wemo on via the botton on top, the remote or via a rule but the Cherub does not come on. If I connect the kettle to the Wemo (closest other electrical thing) it works as normal. I suspect the coffee machine isnt getting enough current to turn on.....so why are other peoples working? Do I have to do anything other than plug and play!? thx in adv Ian grumpy because I have to wait 20 minutes for my machine to warm u
