  1. Hi, grateful if any one can advise on this. The machine is about 4 years old and has had light-ish use & regularly descaled etc., but never serviced Yesterday when the machine was turned on, the pressure gauge moved beyond the 2.5 mark (normally it rests at 1.5). Hot Water from the boiler started leaking out of the bottom of the machine. I turned the machine off an on again, similar thing happened. It then seemed to trip the electric in the house, whenever the machine was left on the electric went off...at which point i thought ok that's not good and left it turned off. I've
  2. Guys, when the water tank is empty, and I refill it do I have to heat the boiler again on this new baby Gaggia? This morning I heated it for 15 minutes before remembering I forgot to fill the tank, then filled it and done another 15. I got 1 cup of double americano and that was warm, the second was after I filled the tank again (Done alot of flushing) appears also warm.
  3. Hi. The water tank on my baby twin leaks a small amount of water from the valve underneath when not on the machine. Is the o ring inside the tank replaceable? Also it leaks more when positioned on the machine. Would a new seal under the grey cap fix this? Many thanks.

  5. Is there any filter you can put into the Profitec water tank that you can attach to the small water inlet at the bottom of the water tank, been trying to find one with out success, any one else found anything?
  6. Just got this through in the post and I'm gagging to get it fired up but it doesn't feel like the water tank is seated right. On my Rocket Giotto the tank properly latched into place and you knew it was in where as this just feels like it's bobbing around a bit. The nipple is definitely seated but it feels like the tank is sat a bit too high and the cover doesn't sit quite flush with the top of the machine. I've tried gently pushing it once it's seated but it just pops back up. Any ideas?
  7. From looking online I know that you can overcome this problem by adding a more powerful light rare earth magnet to the top of the float in the water tank, or by shorting out the reed switch connectors on the control board inside the machine (although this fix means the machine thinks there's always water so not ideal) however because I'm fixing this problem for a friend I'd like to solve the problem "properly". First I bought a new DeLonghi ESAM4200.S reed switch to replace the one internally. Fitted it but the problem remained. So I then bought a whole new water tank because I couldn't f
  8. Hi All, I would like some advice on my Gaggia as it's leaking water from what I think is the water tank. It comes out of the machine (turned on or off) from the back, underneath. I can't leave the water tank with water in it else it ends up all over the place. It still performs fine, just that I have to mop up all the time, so I've stopped using it. I've always used filtered water by the way. If you look into the water tank housing it has water in the bottom. If I pull out the water tank and just put it on the counter top it leaks from the right hand side valve. The valve is sim
  9. Is there a reason why not even the high-end machines seem to offer water tanks in stainless steel? I know that ss is used in other cold water and hot water drink machines, and I would certainly be willing to pay to remove the plastic element, however short a time the water resides in it. Has anyone made this mod to their machine?
  10. Hello everyone, Has anyone worked on such project? Lots of tanked machines have cheap plastic water tanks, the idea is to replace the stock reservoir with a water tank made of glass or stainless steel. I am starting to experiment with Gaggia Classic and basically won't be difficult to cut 5 glass plates and glue them together with silicone or something that is non toxic. Any ideas on the topic are welcome. BR
  11. Hi there, I am looking at upgrading my set up at some time in the hopefully not too distant future. I currently own a Sage duo temp pro which I am very pleased with but want to move on. I've been looking at the Rocky Appartamento, the Bezzera BZ 10 and the Expobar Office Leva. My one concern with the Leva is the filling of the water tank. I don't want to have to pull the machine out to take the water tank out (it would be under cupboards) but the hole in the water tank seems quite small. Do any of you mange to fill the tank using a jug? Best wishes, Teresa
  12. Hi, after dialing in, backflushing and other activities involving back flow through the OPV, I've been getting some foul smelling water in the water tank of miss silvia, also a very fine grit would collect on the bottom. Guessing that the culprit might be the backflow from the OPV, I've decided to divert the output of its hose to another vessel and see the effects. I've deep cleaned the machine yesterday and flushed half a litre of water through the boiler. Wonder about the water quality in the tank after couple of days.
