  1. I was warned when I got my Pavoni that it would be the slippery slope to wanting more, did I believe them? Of course not, I scoffed and claimed that it’s totally ridiculous to suggest that getting your first machine could send someone charging head first down the rabbit hole. So anyway I now have this...... Bezzera Strega and Fiorenzato F64E. Oooops.
  2. Before I buy a new QM Rapida imported Italy, was just curious if anyone was looking to get rid of their spring lever machine, specifically one with a reservoir. The only ones that I can see that match the description that I can afford are the Bezzera Strega or QM Veloce/Rapida, but feel free to offer any others that I might have missed. A QM Rapida new is roughly £1450, so obviously I would be look to pay quite a bit less than that for a used machine. Would need to be delivered somehow to Clifton/Bristol, I can't collect.
  3. For sale is my Bezzera Strega lever espresso machine. Excellent condition with the odd very faint scuff mark to the chrome if you look hard, perfect working order. Bought new from Bella Barista in August 2015. I have only ever used Everpure filtration system treated water with the machine. Supplied with Bezzera naked and double portafilters, and associated baskets (not pictured). I think I also have all the paperwork (somewhere) that came with the machine.   4. Hi, as some may know, I had an L1.........I no longer have an L1. The only reason I am saying this, is I have bought a Strega, so in case anyone wondered, but, that's as much as I will say on the topic. Anyway, my Strega turned up today.   6. Hi peeps, bean to cup user here(delonghi primadonna), bought it about seven years ago and have never been happy with it. Have tried whole beans and ground beans from various reputable places but the output always tastes the same and had left me disillusioned with the whole coffee thing. skip forwards to now, living in France, and experiencing the whole espresso-after-a- meal routine has got me back interested.     Which decaf ?

    I know maybe it's not the done thing to drink coffee without caffeine but since owning the Strega I just want to keep on pulling baby. Unfortunately my nervous system can't take too much of it, we'll in the evenings anyway.So I would like the forums opinions and views on any of the de cafe range that the roasters do, and which are their favourites ?
  8. I have unscrewed the lever from my Strega, and my son was moaning, so I thought I would make a shot on one of my standby machines Here is the culprit! And, it actually tasted ok, in a sort of Starbucksy type of way! I bought some custom handles for my Expobar from BB, the ones Dave from HB makes and the chap who bought the Leva did not want them.   9. Its took a while but now the coffee corner is officially open Now the misses is happy she's got her worktop space and storage back again. I used the Strega for the first time at home and sampled some of BB free Italian roast. The first dial in was way too fine and took an absolute age for the leaver to go back, a few notches coarser and the pour was improved but could be better.   10. I have had five very happy years with my Quickmill 2820, which came to an end when I recently sampled my favourite coffee from my coffee dealer's Strega. The plan therefore is to upgrade to a lever machine, and the current contenders due to footprint and price are the Strega and the Veloce. Due to the more traditional approach, I currently lean towards the Veloce. However, I'd like to see if someone had the chance to compare the two and their pro's and cons. Plumbing in would also be a advantage, can the Veloce be plumbed in or retrofitted to be plumbed in? Many thanks!
  11. I am trying to get my head around an issue Mr Schulman brought out, in regards to the Strega and extraction possibilities. Now, it is widely known that I am not scientifically minded, but I still like to understand how things work. I might have a fundamental misunderstanding to start with but, lets talk Ristretto.
