Good day fellow roasties! Keeping a logbook of your roasts, well, for some is a necessary evil while others enjoy and excel in handwriting. Especially for beginners it might be a frightening thought to also fiddle with new hard- and software. On the other hand it can come in very handy: automating the task of accurately gathering temperature data (and more) enables the newbie to focus on roast and roaster. Enthusiasts will benefit from the archives they're building, so further self-education is at your fingertips. For a new business, achieving consistent results is one fundamental pillar to set sail, as is inventory management. There is a growing variety of tools out there. So, I've decided to collect info on different roast logging software solutions in a single thread. Please feel free to contribute by replying, I will add your comments to the first post, subsequently. Filling in the blanks might take a while, but let's at least kick it off today Disclaimer: I am not at all affiliated with any of these projects/companies/links | they don't appear in any particular order | there's no claim for the following collection to be complete... whatsoever... this is just a forum post. Hi guys. I'd like to ask you if you don't have any experience with changing the language of display on any Jura machine. Could you, please, tell me some tips, how to do it, which equipment I'd need and so? Thank you very much!
Wondered if anyone is using tech to log their roasts. Have to say that I discovered an app for iPhone/iPad a few months ago and it is a real help keeping track of inventory and collated logs. The app is called RoastMaster and available in the iStore. The ui takes a bit of getting used to, but you can store temp profiles and roast graphs against each roast. Each roast can also have it's own cupping notes. It is aimed more at the home roaster and hence posting in this forum. Anyway, I would be interested to hear from anyone else using independent software in this way.
Thought I might develop a roast profiling prog for PC (sure they exist, but where's the fun in that?) Anyway I'm mulling over getting one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K-Type-USB-Thermometer-Thermocouple-Sensor-Data-API-w-CD-for-PC-Laptop-Win-XP-7-/331669173502?hash=item4d3905f4fe:g:BfUAAOxyVaBSrD2P (USB-interface for a K-Type with included SW) Question is, would you trust the driver DLLs not to carry viruses?
