  1. The shot volume was going down and it continued to drip for ages after I removed the cup so I decided to renew the seals. I have since found out that I may have got away with regreasing the seals, but there you go. I had set aside about 30 mins for the job, little did I know... The old seals came out easily enough but putting the new ones in without damaging them or the piston was another matter. The seals were too tough and would not stretch over the piston, I have seen the youtube video where someone uses wire to guide the seal, Reiss suggests using small allen keys but I couldn't do it and
  2. Has anybody ordered a set of the new 'custom' seals for their Londinium machine? (As documented on the Londinium blog) I had been considering replacing mine as it approaches 4 years of daily use but wasn't sure if these were just for the people whose machines were catching a bit too high or for all the machines out there. I replace the group seal every year or so as needed, but have never touched the piston ones other than to clean and re-lube them and the bore as needed (again roughly yearly). I still really need to get my toggles lubed as well, can anybody remember the mm of the nu
  3. I have for sale two sets of the new Londinium piston seals. Its just the seals for the piston (the set of 3) not the group. £25 each set inc recorded & insured postage.
  4. Hello - new user here. Does anyone happen to know the technical specs for the replacement seals etc for la pavoni groups, steamer and so on? The prices charged by the official suppliers for a few rubber seals and brass washers seem pretty outrageous (north of £30) so I was wondering if it were possible to buy generic equivalents separately? Also is there a way of getting the horseshoe washer out without wrecking it in the process? (even with needle-nosed pliers!?)
  5. Summary - I'm not getting as large a shot volume as I expect and wonder if I need new seals for my Quickmill Veloce, maybe the modified Londinium seals as the machines share the same group? I'm actually getting nice tasty shots at the moment, if a little sharp (not sour) using barely rested med/dark roast 75% Costa Rican/ 25% Sumatran which is admittedly a bit on the bright side. I'm running 18g nicely distributed grounds in an 18g VST basket ground fairly close to choking the machine and well distributed. As a test trying to get the highest shot volume I can I give it a 20 second p
  6. Hi all, Does anyone know when the Londiniums started shipping with the new high performance seals? Unless I flush between shots the lever's not grabbing until very late / high angle and I'm getting a low shot volume, also if I don't flush after the last shot I'm almost guaranteed a stuck thermosyphon. Could it be anything apart from the seals? I bought my machine December 2016 so it's fairly new!
  7. ive noticed a little problem with my carezza over the last 2 days, while pulling a shot i get a drip of water from the right side of the brew head, its clear water and annoyingly it drips directly into the right shot glass at a rate of about a drip every second or two. does anyone know whats likely to be the cause? are there any seals or gaskets that are prone to perishing?
  8. Hi all, I am urgently after some sight glass seals for Elektra microcasa a leva post 87 model. I can only find surpliers in the US wierdly and can't find a way to contact elektra in any meaningfull way. Anybody knows who supplies parts in the UK apart from just the standard seal kit (which does not include the sight glass seals) Thanks
  9. Hi. After having issues with a DeLonghi my gf bought me for Christmas I'll be returning it to john lewis. It seems they are no longer stocking the eco310 as they've removed them from the website and have none in stock. I'm thinking of suggesting my gf gets me a good grinder and accessories and I'll sort out a machine (second hand from eBay). Does anyone have experience with eBay mahines (gaggia classic) are they easy to source parts for & fix if necessary, I have engineering/plumbing experience so not scared of getting stuck in. It seems a gaggia classic with ibertial
  10. Note to mods. Im not sure where to post this or if it is even allowed, would you please move it/delete it as appropriate. Fitting Londinium's own rubber piston seals can be a right pain. It is possible to fit them without a special tool with a bit of improvisation, but the seals are expensive and can be damaged by sharp edges on the piston grooves and a certain amount of dexterity is required. As people may not want to buy a tool to use only once in a while I am offering this tool for hire to established forum members for £6 a time. The tool will fit the Londinium L1 an
  11. Hi all I have owned Classic for 13 years with no issues, I am now trying to resurrect the 2012 machine which i bought as a wedding present for my nephew and his wife in 2012. Machine has been out of action for 2 years. He thought the pump had failed. From tests I've carried out fairly I was sure that it is the solenoid. Tried various attempts to de-calcify but didn't really improve, so have stripped machine down. Mostly fairly clean but when took solenoid apart the inlet is completely furred up. Thought I might as well do full strip down and replace all seals. However have a problem
