I came across this a few weeks ago and I am considering making an offer on it with a view to a refurb project. Can someone tell me the model and a realistic offer price on a 'sold as seen', on the basis that the motor is good but the rest needing a total refurb. The sticker is unreadable from the original pic. Can it be adapted to be used without a portafilter and grind coarser then espresso? Thank you in advance.

I'm selling my 2013 Gaggia Classic which needs a refurb. I'll try to include as much detail as possible to give the buyer an idea of what they're getting but please feel free to ask me questions. The machine was bought new by me in 2013. It was fine for 3yrs but I'd not been backflushing regularly so I got it serviced and have since been making sure it gets a monthly Cafiza backflush. It has been working perfectly but recently it sat idle for 2mths and when I turned it on the water wouldn't flow through the head. I took off the head, gave it a thorough clean down and changed the seal

These were used for making the "Sitomagus Stirrer" the up and coming competitor to the Londinium Distribution tool! I have started the clean up of a second hand La Pavoni Pro' and have found the brushes were good for cleaning the insides of steam and dipper tubes. When doing my extensive research for the 'Stirrer', I noticed that there were some similar brushes with brass/bronze bristles. These may be even better? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5Pcs-Cleaners-Cleaning-Brush-Wash-Stainless-Steel-Drinking-Pipe-Straw-SliveHLJK/192682086096?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057

Hi. Just started looking for a new grinder as I wanted to upgrade my Iberital MC2, which although has done me proud (especially for the price) was a bit noisy. Today I found a Mazzer Major Aut on FB sales locally listed just as a coffee grinder so picked it up very cheap. Amazed by the weight and the size of it when I picked it up but saw it running with a few beans and seamed in pretty good nick apart from some drinks to the paintwork. Not expecting a lot for the money but am happy to work on it if it needs it. It has a sprung tamper on the front and a doser which reads 1850 -

Hi there I have just bought what I believe to be a 2007 Gaggia Classic and am looking to do a full strip down as it has not been looked after . (it was at a price I couldn't say no to) I have found the sticky 'So you've just bought your first Gaggia Classic' so useful and also found this resource: http://protofusion.org/wordpress/2012/04/gaggia-classic-disassembly-and-cleaning/ which seems to outline everything i need to do but is there anything else i need to be aware of? I'm thinking a full gasket/ seal kit as well as a good descaler and cleaner would be essential ( just taken off

I may well regret this at some point but I've purchased a Zip cheaply (less than £50) that is untidy but works, so I'm gong to clean, repaint and generally refurbish where practical to do. This may include making it doserless, but time will tell. I'll get some pics of it once it's out of the car, it's too heavy for me to currently lift. If I'm about to waste time and money on a machine that isn't any good to start with, please tell me now. So far I've just ordered new burrs and discussed with my brother that I'll be asking him to paint it. I thought of powder coating it, but it seems

I've just happened to stumble upon a bit of a good deal for myself of 2 Mazzer Super Jollys, one working and one not... Unfortunately the seller wasn't able to tell me what the fault was on the non running machine but I'm in high hopes it's serviceable. Is there a guide somewhere with a general overhaul directions, I'm quite mechanically minded but I'd rather know exactly what to look out for on this particular grinder. Thanks

OK, so it's nearly sanded back completely (if I could just figure out how to get the knob off!). I'm torn on what colour to go with. My original thought was a dark, gunmetal, silver/grey colour. However I've since seen the following two and am tempted to go with something slightly more unusual... BMW Sepang Bronze Metallic: BMW Amythest Grey: Sorry for the ridiculous sized images. SWMBO has actually greenlighted any colour of my choosing. However I'm not looking to go for something bright. Thoughts?

Hi, I recently got a Fracino Piccino from the for sale section in these forums. I'd like to strip it down, give it a full service and upgrade any parts that can be done. I know my way around a Gaggia Classic pretty well, but was wondering if anyone had any advice in terms of where to buy parts/what the best upgrades are. Fracino's website doesn't have a parts shop anymore, it just links you to an email address. I've found this website for parts https://www.espressounderground.co.uk/Fracino-Coffee-machine-Spare-Parts-s/1961.htm but I'm not sure how to identify which if any fit the Picc

One day just to fully strip this old astoria, and i Mean strip every single nut, bolt, copper pipe right down to bare frame then we dip copper parts in acid and detail clean everything even the bolts and nuts, This is just half the job I'll post pics of the rebuild if the engineers remembered to take some, I was away for rebuild... Just thought some of you would like to see what we do in terms of servicing... More pics to come...
