  1. Not been able to for a few weeks, anyone else got this? Any ideas to fix it? Thanks
  2. I’m having an issue with my mahlkonig branded vario grinding slowly and often stalling completely leaving me to be toggling the stop start button repeatedly. So far i have been able to get my 33g of coffee out twice a day (just!) but it seems to be getting worse. It seems like the motor just doesn’t have the torque to grind properly all of a sudden. Ive cleaned it all out and checked the belt and gears and everything seems fine. Weirdly it runs perfectly after cleaning old grounds out of the inside of the case around the belt and motor for a day and then starts playing up again. Im
  3. Is anyone else having trouble editing posts once their posted? I almost always get a blank screen when I go back to a post to edit it. Is it me, or is the Internet breaking? Thanks.
  4. Hello, Just got this nice grinder from espressocoffeeshop.com recently, but the lcd time control icons not working! What to do now? I'm in a far country and it's really difficult to return it back on my cost. I don't know if the company would take responsibility of shipping costs.
  5. Every time I press the steam button my spout just pops out after 2 seconds of steam. There are screws behind the spout should I mess with them or are they not related?
  6. Hi all. I put up a video here with a problem with my Gaggia Classic a few days ago, and the consensus seemed to be that the solenoid valve had gotten blocked with scale debris. The machine is 2011 but new to me, bought second-hand recently. I have been trying to get myself set up over the last month or so, getting a second-hand Baratza Vario from a forum member, tamper, scales, airtight container etc. Also got a brass shower screen holder and gasket as the originals did not look too good. The issue occurred, I think, after I put the machine on its side, to fit the new parts. (Reall
  7. Hello there. I have problem and I hope you could help. My Baratza 270w sgueaks after cleaning (like a mouse) . I cleaned the grinder again and did not help. I put in new beans and changed setting. It also did not help. Do you have any ideas what can I do next before I will send to service? Thanks and I look forward to your response.
  8. Hi there all, Im looking for some advice on roasting at home. Do I need to conform to any law regs to roast in my house ( 1 kg electric coffee roaster)? do I need to have a health inspector visit? I would like to sell my coffee online. Any other advice? Thanks Dominik
  9. Hi all, I was hoping I could get a bit of help with something please! I bought a 2011 Gaggia Classic second hand, and it was working fine at the very beginning. I then ordered a new shower screen holder (brass) and gasket as the originals were looking a little tired / corroded. However, now that I’ve replaced them (correctly I think, but you never know) I’m not getting any water flow at all. The answer may be staring me in the face but I’d rather suffer the online embarrassment than more frustration! I’ve added the links to the two parts below, and (I think) a video of the issue. Any
  10. Hi there. My Gaggia Brera is quite new. The rinse cycle fails and I think it's time for me to find the reason and fix it. After activating the brewer from stand by, it performs a rinse cycle. As a result water should come out from the dispensing shout. However only a few drops appears, sometimes nothing at all. I had a look inside the machine today and the rinse water comes out under the brewing unit. When brewing coffee though, coffee comes out at the correct place (at least most of it I guees). I'd be very happy if someone recognizes the problem and let me know what I can do about i
  11. I have used the grinder for a year and it was great until my shots slowly started getting faster and I can't dial it fine enough anymore before the chirping starts. I have been buying coffee beans from the same shop and the beans are freshly roasted so that's not part of the problem. I don't drink a lot of coffee either so I don't think it's the burrs wearing out. Been cleaning it every month or so by opening up the top and removing the bottom burr carrier to suck up the old grounds. Any idea what the issue might be and how to fix it? Warranty is expired.
  12. I have had the De'longhi ECAM22.110.B for 5 years now and in the main it worked perfectly without a hitch until recently. The issue boils (ha!) down to this: I press the coffe making button. Machine grinds beans, deposits them in infuser. Machine heats water properly. Some grinding noises occur (I can't see inside while in operation) BUT water does not reach coffee. Dry grounds are properly expelled, heated water also expelled. The two do not meet. Now, if I knew what processes were going on inside, I could pinpoint the culprit and fix it. Until now, whenever this problem has occur
  13. I have a Rocket R58 and for the past couple months I have been experiencing the following problem: When turning the machine on after about 15 minutes the steam pressure continues to rise past the 1-1.5bar green zone on the dial to around 2.25bar, this is the point where the OPV releases, the OPV activates and releases the excess pressure, initially this was intermittant but now it occours every time the machine is turned on (I have now turned off the steam/service boiler). The heater doesn't shut off and the water in the boiler is continued to heat, so my initial thoughts were that its a
  14. so i have a Silvia and a meCoffee PID. a couple of days ago it just stopped working. i have the power led on, but brew buttons and steam buttons don't do anything. hot water button is working. has someone else encountered such a problem? send 2 emails to Jan but no answer and that's frustrating... please advice.
  15. I have before me an oscar that want's to fill up the boiler as soon as i turn it on, but the boiler is already full, which i know because i have the steam outlet open and it lets out the excess water. If i close the steam outlet, eventually the safety valve blows and lets out water. My waterlevel probe is in the right position. It is as if the probe can't sense the water in the boiler and therefore tells the pump to keep filling up the boiler. The waterlevel probe cable is attached properly as well. I don't really know what to do to fix this. Any ideas?
  16. hi guys, my baby dose had stopped working and im out of ideas, when i try to make a coffee the pump doesnt make its usual rumble, and it doesnt pull water through. the pump does still make a quiet noise like its trying but not actually pumping. ive descaled fully before this problem, also i stripped the machine last night, took the pump apart all seemed ok no signs of blockage. when i put it back together it worked fine however woke up this mornin and back to square one any ideas? also what i cant get my head around is i have 2 baby doses , and they both now have the exact same problem,
  17. A few weeks ago I started getting the following problem: Get some new beans in. Find the grind is too fine. Adjust the grind. Get the same result. Keep adjusting the grind to find that there is no change in the output, even after stepping up several times. Remove hopper and grind out remaining beans in the chamber. Put hopper back on and pull a shot to find that it's now way too coarse. This happened about 3 times so decided to remove the top burr and clean out the chamber, only to find that the problem hasn't been fixed. I'm p**sing beans away like crazy and it
  18. Hello all I am new to this forum and hope some insightful and knowledgeable people can shed some light on the current situation I am in. I have a Francino Classic 1 grp. Initially water would surge through the pressure safety valve not the steam valve. I stripped all of it down and soaked all the parts in citric acid. On reassembly I now get hot water and steam from the wands. But no water from the group head. To stop the water coming out of the pressure valve I turn the water off from the mains, once the water gauge shows the tank to be full. So in affect I am acting
  19. Hi coffee Friends. I have my hands on an old ECM Giotto that won't refill the boiler. I've emptied the boiler and now I need the machine to fill it back up, but when I turn on the machine nothing happens. The LED lights up and indicates that the machine has been turned on but the pump doesn't do anything. I've tried many things: 1: unplugging the cable from the water level probe - didn't have any effect 2: changing the gicar (black control box) to a new one - didn't have any effect 3: changing the vibration pump to a new one - didn't have any effect Does anybody have any ide
  20. I have before me a rocket evoluzione with which i have a technical issue. It might be essential to know that the rocket evoluzione has a rotary pump and not a vibration pump. When pulling a shot (with a blind portafilter in) the brew pressure gauge immediately shows the pressure to be 9 bars, but the pressure rapidly climbs all the way up to around 14-15 bars. Obviously by now the safety "over pressure valve" has opened and is letting water out the front of the machine to release all the extra pressure. My initial thought was to adjust the pressure adjustment-nut on the pump and so i
  21. Hi, I am struggling to figure out whats going on with my beans. Any thoughts would be very welcome. Last month I purchased some Has Bean Ethiopia Ana Sora Guji Natural for espresso/cappuccino via my la pavoni - Amazing blueberries! I drank it around 2-3 weeks after roast date. I purchased some more. On Day 3 after roast date I got the amazing blueberries and also some lovely parma violets which were mentioned on the pack but not noticed in the first batch. I went away for a couple of days and then from Day 6-11 I have not had any blueberries at all. I’ve cleaned everything ou
  22. I have been making coffee with a Gaggia Pure for a number of years. Recently, decided to upgrade to a Classic and what a difference it has made! I can now taste the difference when I do different things in terms of tamping and temperature surfing whereas with the Pure, only the level of the grind made a small difference and the coffee was never that good in comparison anyway. I bought the Classic off Ebay as I have done some research and looks like the new ones are not as fun to play with. The first problem that I had with the machine was that the steam works well but it wouldn't pul
  23. Hi, Over the last week my gaggia classic appears to have developed a problem, possibly pump related . When I run the water through the grouphead with the backflush plate or basket with coffee, after a couple of seconds the pump goes quiet and get reduced flow. There appears to be quite a bit of water on top of the coffee when I remove the portafilter which previously didn't happen. If I run water through the group head with nothing attached there is no issue and the pump works fine with consistent flow of water. What might be the problem? Also should water only come out one hol
  24. I have a Sage Barista Express, (Iv'e had multiple,) and after approx 6 months the Brew/Steam/Water selector stops working / jams , and Steam / water will exit the brewed regardless of position. Iv'e had multiple Sage Engineers (Coffee classic ) out, and luckilly lakeland have also been good in exchanging the faulty machines. I clean the machine weekly with cleaning tablets / descaler. Is this an issue that anyone else has experienced ? is it a problem with the design of the valve / switch. ? This is the 5th time now, and I've confidence in the machine. I'm guessing the Du
  25. Hi, I bought a gaggia classic from this forum a few weeks ago and it was working fine until a week ago when half way through an extraction the machine made a loud noise and the pump became a lot quieter. The pump remained quiet the next time I used it but it was still working and I could extract coffee through the group and the steam wand was working fine. So i decided to descale the machine and following this the pump was a little bit louder but it wasn't back to how it was. Having scoured this forum there are a number of users who have had the same problem, so I followed the advic
