1. Hi all, here is my current holiday espresso setup..it is not really a small nor light one, but certainly makes great coffee :-) Portaspresso Rossa Air PG, Kinu M68, Bellman stovetop steamer, Bonavita kettle
2. So I had some fun playing with this, but I will simply never use it as much as it should be. I almost always drink milk drinks and it would get damaged or not properly cared for at work. This is the version with the pressure valve which allows you to play around with pressure profiles and get some really lovely shots of espresso. The recommended way to pressurise the Air Espresso is a compressor pump (which can be plugged into your car 12v port) or hand pump. I was actually using a nitrous dispenser with a pressure valve (checked with Ross first to make sure it was OK, which it was) to charge it which worked well but was a lot of extra faff. The Compressor pump is the easiest way to use it! The thread on the Schrader adapter was slightly damaged so I recently ordered a new one from Ross, and whilst I was paying for shipping from Aus I also ordered a selection of replacement O-rings and seals which Ross said would cover anything that could possibly fail or break, all in all about £60 worth of extra replacement bits. There are some slight oxidisation marks to the aluminium which you can see in the photos, these marks demonstrate how important it is to fully clean and dry the Air Espresso after each use. The marks come from not fully getting into the nooks and crannies of the lattice pattern on the aluminium with drying tissue, they are not large or obvious but I want to mention everything for full disclosure! So included in this sale is: Main Body Air Cylinder Cylinder Filling Adapter (brass) Filter Basket - 14g Naked Filter Head Tamper Rossa Multi-Purpose Base Spare 'group gasket' (white gasket that seals the basket to the body) Spare o-rings for all seals. £220 Including postage Photos:
3. Hi All, I'm looking to sell my beloved Rosco Mini (purchased 14th Oct 2014). I have owned a large number of hand grinders (Lido 1 & 2, Pharos, HG-One, Hausgrind, Hario, Porlex etc.) Simply, this is the best all round hand grinder I have ever owned. The engineering quality is unmatched in hand grinders (with the possible exception of an HG-One). Grinder was purchased/shipped from Portaspresso Australia for £250 + approx £100 UK import duty Condition is excellent, 1 year old, no dings or knocks (it's been cherished). I simply have too much coffee stuff, so this is surplus to requirements. I'm looking for £170 ono + £10 delivery Regards Andy
4. Hi, I have finally managed to finish my home setup for making coffee, aiming for quality and small footprint. The tray is 44 x 36 cm. How many different ways of making coffee can you identify?
5. Hi All, I'm willing to sell my Portaspresso Rossa PG Alu with all its accessories if I get the right price. What is included: Main Body Air Cylinder Cylinder Filling Adapter Filter Basket - 14g Naked Filter Head Tamper Rossa Multi-Purpose Base Instruction Manual in PDF The device has no stains and no scratches. I'm attaching some pics, which will include the Rosco Mini and other accessories, which are not for sale. The device was not used on a daily base, it was used on average every second weekend and during travel. I'm selling it because I'm getting the brass unit to match it with the Rosco. I'm selling it for 250 GBP + shipping , which should be around 30 GBP (tracked EMS post). The device is built to last, it has no plastic parts, therefore it could last a lifetime if the user follows the manual. I live in Hungary so shipping within Europe will save the huge customs fee and postage is reduced also. I am accepting PayPal as payment option. Here is a pic of the Rossa, along with other products , which I'm not going to sell. http://i60.tinypic.com/2cpq1xv.jpg' alt='2cpq1xv.jpg'>
6. Morning all, you may have noticed that the OE Lido 2 is now available for pre-order. http://www.oehandgrinders.com/LIDO-2_c_23.html Before I jump in a nab one of these gorgeous looking things, I need to know that it's going to grind fine enough for my Gaggia Classic. I'm only grinding for a double every other morning, 3 on a thursday, maybe half a dozen over a weekend. I'm happy with the labour side of things (should be a pleasure to use), and of course the price when compared to a machine like the mignon (which I'd be saving for if I was getting a machine), but will the Lido 2 go fine enough to be my main espresso grinder? I think it sounds like it will from what I can find out, but I'd like a more-expert-than-me opinion on it first before ordering - just don't all go off and order them and leave me without!! thanks (did I mention it looks gorgeous?!)
7. I thought it was about time I posted a picture of ALL of the Portaspresso equipment that I have so here 'tis: I thought it might be easier if I labelled the different components. Invisible is the double PF which is attached to the Rossa HC. The gadget on the right is mountain bike shock pump which is used to pressurise the Rossa TR. One charge will normally give me three or four coffees depending on the pressure profile that I use - the pressure gauge fits both espresso makers. I continue to be really impressed by the quality of the Rosco grinders! David
8. In the forum's absence, my Christmas present to myself arrived from Australia. Notwithstanding that I got hit by HMRC and that the kit is a bit pricy as it is, it is a major investment in portable espresso making. I bought the Rossa HC machine, the stand, the Rosco grinder, pressure adapter, naked and regular portafilters an extra 14g basket and a 21g one. I also ordered a 54.6mm brass c-flat tamper from Reg Barber. After quite a few (well a lot!) of duff shots, I managed to dial in the grinder and make absolutely SUPERB shots. It takes a bit of learning and all up is quite heavy but what a cup of coffee! I'd be happy to answer any questions and will bring it along to the next members day. David
9. Hi all, long time no see I am moving on some items I am not really using and selling them could help me to fund some other stuff. For sale is a set for making espresso at your home or office or anywhere else with beans and hot water available. This will also enable you to do pressure profiling and won't take much space on your countertop. It is ideal if you don' t need to steam milk and make few espressos a day (such as one in the morning and one in the evening). It is quiet in use (no pump) and you can get from zero to espresso in around 7 minutes. The workflow (with a different grinder) can be observed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fz9QcqYiiY The brew unit Portaspresso HC-P has a pressure gauge and is made from brass, so quite substantial with good thermal properties. I've added some extra silicone bands to the "brew head" to prevent burning your hands, there is also an extra silicone group head gasket. It comes with original tamper, stand, large spouted portafilter (for triple baskets), original single, double and triple baskets, extra naked portafilter and extra IMS precision double basket, also an extra dosing cylinder made by Norvin. I also include extra original group head gaskets. The grinder is madebyknock Feld 47 travel, high quality precision grinder, perfect to go with the brew unit. I've put under 5 kilos of coffee through, so it is in excellent condition and ready to grind for your espresso. I am looking for 500 euro via PayPal for the whole set, postage included. Pics follow:
